Great ice cream and snacks. The elote en vaso hits hard and the paletas de crema are amazing.

Absolutely love this place. First time we have been in, prices are incredible, lots of variety to choose from, and wonderful portions, the ice cream is not too sweet it is excellent. I will be back supporting this place!

The staff here are really nice and helpful. They really let you know you can sample the ice cream and drinks.
I got the pecan aquafrescas, and I believe it is cream or milk based, but it’s so good. I also got the Biscoff ice cream (I didn’t know anyone could make airplane cookies taste good!!) When I got it, it looked picture perfect, perfect scoop, big cookie sticking out the side (forgive the picture I had to take it when I got home).
Would 100% recommend this place!!

Place is clean, employees are very friendly and the prices are justified based on the portions and quality you get, so delicious!!

We may give this another chance, because I am addicted to ice cream, but this first impression waa not a good one.

We ordered two milkshakes and both of them came out extremely liquidy. The server just kept adding milk, because it was sticking to the sides of the blender. I was shocked that it was just nearly pure liquid when we got it.

We also ordered the hot cheeto nachos...and out of 4 of us, not a single person wanted to finish it. It was just so meh - cheese had zero flavor - and the temperature was room temp, which just made it even more meh.

Postive note - there are a lot of flavors to chose from.

This place is so cute! We tried the ice cream and it was all delicious!! Will definitely be back. I love the variety and can’t wait to try everything!

La Monarca Michoacana – Norman, OK

This place was astonishing! We were craving some Latino-style ice cream and decided to stop by La Monarca Michoacana — and I’m really glad we did. I’ve been to the popular paleteria on the south side of OKC, but this one might just be my favorite.

The ice cream isn’t overly sweet, which makes it perfect. The shop was super clean, and the staff were friendly and professional — you can tell they really care about their customers and the presentation of everything.

I had the coffee and coconut ice cream, and it was delicious — smooth, balanced, and full of flavor. My wife went with coffee and caramel, and hers looked incredible too. In the photo, you’ll see hers topped with pancakes, chocolate-covered pistachios, strawberries, bananas, and a drizzle of condensed milk. The pistachios were a bit heavy for my taste, but I’d love to see blueberries offered as an option in the future — maybe even a little Nutella drizzle over the pancakes. Just a friendly suggestion!

Overall, this spot gets a full 5 out of 5 from me. Between the amazing ice cream, the clean and welcoming environment, great service, and fair prices, La Monarca Michoacana in Norman is definitely worth checking out. 🍨💯
