This place is not the same place as it used to be. The Custard is not smooth at all. Instead, it is more icy/rough compared to what it used to be. With so many new places popping up in Norman, I just don't see us going back here unless things change back.
Also, if the owner reads this: don't advertise having a flavor (pumpkin) when it is not actually available. We specifically went here to try the pumpkin, since the google page and even the HUGE sign inside place say to order it......but when we did, we were told it isn't ready until October.....why was this not part of the advertisements and signs?
Used to love this place, but done for now.

I ordered a concrete. it was not a concrete.
Awesome custard and customer service. Thanks for being in Norman
Newer custard is subpar. I don’t care what milkfat percentage any manufacture claims, the new product is much icier and less creamy than what was previously sold here.
Sometimes manufactures will claim things that are not true, and I would question if the manufacturer of the custard mix is being honest about this being higher fat, because the new version is definitely icy and not amazing custard. I’ve been buying here for years. Management, please go back we are begging you. This stuff taste like a cheap mix out of a soft, serve machine that’s low calorie, it’s hardly creamier than previous iterations, it’s a complete fail.
Also, I find it odd that Kate commented that 10% milkfat is the lowest percent legally allowed to be called custard, but then claims Andy’s sells 8%. Are you saying Andy’s is breaking the legal requirements for calling a product custard?
Genuinely enjoyed coming to this place for a frozen treat, but since I learned they're gathering signatures opposing the homeless shelter, I really can't support them anymore. Shame.

Easily our favorite ice cream spot in the area - however, we’ve been twice in the last few weeks and neither time have the workers had chocolate custard ready. Today, we decided to leave without ordering.
Just read about the support to rid Norman of homeless.
To rate Rusty’s so poorly is something I never thought I would do. I have been a customer and a Norman resident for 23 years. I assumed this would happen when the shop was sold to new owners. Highly disappointed does not even begin to describe how I felt when I went to Rusty’s and the chocolate custard was NOT the same custard I have eaten for 23 years. I asked the girls working and they said they are buying from a new wholesale company. How clear it is that the costs are being cut with the poor quality custard I tasted, equivalent to that of Freddy’s Frozen Custard (the fast food chain). I will not be going back, nor will my family and many friends if this issue is not fixed. It is so disappointing to go to a business you have supported for 23 years, ordering the same thing, and it tastes totally different!
