Came back after taking my daughter here for breakfast and it was not as expected.
With my daughter the service and food was excellent, no complaints what so ever. Had told my fiancé that it was good and we should go. Well we did this morning and what a complete let down.
Restaurant was not busy at all maybe 4 tables with guests including us. Everything seemed fine till our food came. My fiancé food was fine but she asked for sausage for her breakfast sliders instead of bacon. Not a huge deal so we looked past. My food was the straw to break the camels back. I got biscuits and sausage gravy with a side of bacon. The bacon came out near cold as if it was just tossed in the microwave for a few seconds, and biscuits and gravy had no seasoning or taste but had healthy spread of parsley over the entire thing. The biscuits themselves tasted and felt stale and old not mention the meal itself was like warm at best. Our waitress checked on us once after food arrived but never again till we were ready to leave. No water or drink refill or anything of the sort. When I gave my feedback on my meal it ended in a $1.20 taken off the meal to which I only finished half a biscuit of that compared to the 4 halves I was given.
Completely disappointed in the time and money spent here. Safe to say we won’t be back

Food was good. However, I did not get what I ordered. It took so long to get my food that I ate it anyway. I also asked for water 2 times and never received it.

While visiting our daughter during her 1st year at OU, we wanted to find a amazing breakfast cafe. And oh boy, did we find it!
Syrup is an incredible breakfast experience. Wonderful service and an even better breakfast and coffee place. It was a little loud but considering it is a college town, that's to be expected. However the noise did not ruin from the fluffy pancakes, perfectly cooked biscuits, gravy, bacon, sausage and eggs. It was like Heaven in your mouth. Absolutely amazing. If you come to Norman, your trip will not be fully complete without a trip to Syrup. ?

My biscuits were dry even with the gravy on them, i asked for some gravy on the side, they brought a tiny bowl and charged me extra $2.50 then my brother asked for his scrambled eggs to be well done, sent them back because they weren’t, got the same the second time, when he talked to a manager (maybe 20 yrs old) all she would say is I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Then she gave him $2.50 discount, but they charge like $5 for a side of eggs!!! Will not ever go back!

ive heard a lot about this place and i can definitely say its overhyped.. eggs tasted like soap, sausage was definitely frozen or old, pancakes were so undercooked they were practically glued to the roof of my mouth… coffee was extremely burnt too. pretty bummed, i’ve heard SOOO many good things about this place, maybe just an off day

Terrible service. We were not greeted with a smile and were cut off by another waiter on our way to our table. I watched other waitstaff cut off other customers throughout our meal. Our waitress made no eye contact whatsoever and once we received our food, she didn't check on us until we were almost done with our food so we never even got to ask for ketchup. I ordered the croissant melt but was dumbfounded as to how you could call it a melt when it was piled with cold shredded cheese. I also was served orange juice in a solo cup and the booths have no back on them and the cushions are filthy. They do everything as cheaply and with as little effort as possible. We should have just stuck with Neighborhood JAM across the street.

The food is good, the service is not so great. All younger adults, probably their 1st service job. They obviously weren't trained well, hopefully they will get better and more personable.
Kid-friendliness: Maybe older children, 2 year old kids...not so much. Gave her a glass glass with water and a straw, of course it was spilled, we cleaned it up.

Love this little hole in the wall diner. The food is great, the service TRIES their best to be good, but I think they get overwhelmed during their busy times. If you are in a rush, don't go. The Food is worth the wait, but definitely plan accordingly before going.

Food came out quick, hot and tasty.
The glares from staff are enough to make you not want to come back. Service was a bare minimum. I had to request the check and boxes because our waitress was inattentive and conversing over personal issues in her life with other off duty employee/friend. They came and stood in the back and had a personal conversation while we were trying to enjoy our breakfast. Honestly, disappointed because I have been looking forward to coming here for months. You never know when it’s someone’s first time coming into your restaurant and that will definitely be our last. Attitudes must be checked at the door and clearly that is not a policy here.

I was in Norman visiting and a friend wanted to treat me to breakfast on my birthday. Since we are both from Houston we turned to TikTok for recommendation and I will say I'm glad I found this hidden gem in Downtown Norman. I enjoyed my birthday breakfast the staff was extremely polite the food was amazing and the space was perfect!

Today (8/16/24) was our first visit. The restaurant was busy and populated with college age customers. The acoustics on the old space aren't good and it's quite noisy. But thats OK. That's better than loud, annoying, overhead music. My wife and I both ordered the Stuffed Frittata. The menu described as a crustless quiche with onion, bell peppers, bacon and cheese on a bed of potatoes. If you look hard at the picture you will see specks of bacon and small bits of bell pepper. And not many of them. The dish is nearly all potatoes. The strawberries were very fresh and good. But, I'd be OK with paying two or three more dollars for more ingredients. And coffee is $5 and we had to ask for a refill. We may return but I will try a more traditional breakfast such as the Home Sweet Homa.
P.S. the photo button is not available. Perhaps I can add later
