Great drinks, amazing food and just a chill spot! Highly recommend

Food isn’t worth the price in my opinion. Two fountain drinks, chicken tenders w/ okra, a wrap with Mac and cheese, and dessert cake out to $47. The chicken breading had no real flavor but was juicy, the wrap was also not very good and neither was the Mac and cheese. The outdoor seating was nice but that’s about it. Service is okay, nothing special but nice.

Absolutely fantastic experience at The Standard in Norman!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, attentive service. Our server, Montana, went above and beyond—she was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. She had great recommendations and never missed a beat.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Paul, the manager, who checked in to make sure we were enjoying everything. It’s clear he genuinely cares about the guest experience and runs a tight, professional, and welcoming operation.

The food was excellent, the drinks were spot on, and the atmosphere was vibrant yet comfortable. If you’re looking for a place in Norman that truly delivers on service and quality, The Standard is it.

Huge thanks to Montana and Paul—you both made our visit memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

Me and my wife went out on a date night, to tell the truth. We went out on a date day as we're an older couple and we're not staying out late LOL but we had a great time at the standard we actually met Cameron One of the owners who was very down to earth and friendly. We are sure to go back again to enjoy the variety of bands and great company. This is a place for all ages and the craft beers are tasty. In a family friendly setting. Cool patio space that's shaded with a friendly vibe. I would love to see some additions to the menu on the dessert side. Just a suggestion.

It seems okay because I have only been there 2 times and never ate there

The House Burger was amazing. The large family style tables link like they would be great for watch parties for sporting events.

Excellent beer selection, knowledgeable staff. The range of beers on tap is awesome, everything from a domestic, to sours, IPAs and even several stouts! They curate the beer lost themselves and keep it fresh and interesting.

Parking: Easy to find parking.

we had enjoyed going to The Standard frequently ever since they opened, and even recommended it and shared positive experiences on social media. We liked it so much, that we overlooked the menu and recipe changes and the occasional outage of menu items. Up until our last visit, a couple of weeks ago, when our kids had been asking for weeks to go. They were very excited when we arrived and started running from table to table to pick our spot. We had just walked up to the counter and hadn't even started talking to the employee and the manager walking by said, "Your kids can't run around like that." I called them over and they immediately came and calmed down, never making a peep the rest of the visit, as they are all relatively behaved children. I have never had difficulty keeping them in line anywhere. That, combined with the now unreasonable pricing of basic menu items, has dettered us from wanting to return or recommending to others.

Kid-friendliness: Lots of spaces for kids to roam and play.

So, we finally made it to The Standard, the place that had been hyped up to the moon and back. We were excited to see the transformation from mechanic shop to eatery, but once we dove into the menu, our excitement started to deflate faster than a balloon on a cold day.
Let's talk about the food, shall we? I ordered the Cobb salad, minus bacon (because who needs that, right?), expecting a mountain of greens, avocado (my beloved avocado!), and all the fixings. Instead, I got a dainty little salad that seemed to have forgotten the avocado memo. And don't even get me started on the fried green tomatoes. For a whopping $5, I awaited my tangy, crispy, fried goodness. Instead I got three lonely tomatoes that seemed to have lost their flavor somewhere between the farm and my plate.
My sister and son had the chicken fingers, which were apparently "good" (according to them). But let's be real, chicken fingers are like the culinary equivalent of a comfort blanket. They're supposed to be good. The real question is: Were they worth the price tag that could have bought a small country?
In the end, The Standard was a bit of a letdown. While the atmosphere was nice, the food just didn't live up to the hype.

Got the pretzels and beer cheese. Pretzel sticks were slightly over cooked. Cheese sauce was gloopy not creamy like too much flour. My cob salad was served pre-made with dressing, something I was not expecting. It was ok but greens did not taste fresh.
