Very interesting place that I will certainly explore further. Non-traditional taco restaurant with something for everyone. Wildly diverse menu offering mostly tacos such as smashburger taco (which was strange but awesome) or Asian & Indian influenced flavors and combinations of meats, rice, veggies. Its a nice vibe of a menu but not really Mexican type tacos. They do have excellent guacamole and spicy sauces to head toward that chili pepper direction. We were there for a work-person lunch but I did see some beers and other fun drinks for after work.

Thanks to Manager Jerry, Velvet Taco in Norman is the place where taco dreams come true. The cuisine is a carnival of flavors. Every bite of everything from sweet waffles to spicy chicken is a sensory experience. There's an electrifying vibe. Velvet Taco's is the ideal place to be with friends or family. So, when Norman feels like having tacos, go to Velvet Taco and say "hey" to Jerry. It's he that ensures that every taco moment is magical! Will definitely be returning for more!

Very good, unique tasting tacos. Packed with tons of ingredients and full of flavor for a decent price. Since there are so many ingredients per taco, a good serving size is two tacos. You can mix and match tacos. I love when your orders are ready, they say "Kevin, it's Taco time." The guacamole and queso were delicious. The restaurant was super clean and a good environment. Bathrooms were clean. I would go back and eat here because I want to try other tacos.

Only been there once but will be making other trips,had a hangover taco had brisket potatoes egg included in it,I'm calling it a breakfast taco which was delicious,one of the best I've had...myself I'm always in search of the perfect margarita and don't think you can get it coming out a machine,so for what it is it wasn't
I’m instantly back in 1990 San Antonio!Friends, I have to tell you each about Velvet Taco on Lindsey Street in Norman! Oh Holy Baby Buddha this food is good! I ordered the simple trio-dip, chips & a margarita on the rocks.FOOD: The first sip of the margarita was so flavorful and balanced that my memory was taken back to San Antonio and every sip thereafter was just as glorious. I think it was pricey because it all came to $27 but don’t be discouraged by the price. The flavorings in the guacamole and the queso are like what our family tends to make (let the ingredients do the talking) AND the fire-roasted salsa is served warm!!!!! Whoever added the extra dollop of sauce on top the queso is my hero. What is that stuff??

Velvet Taco? How about too many ingredients and too much such spice. And...$12 single taco is too expensive to taste like it did. The service was good during the lunch hour but the food - meh! If you're an experimental eater this is the place for you. If you have limited time for lunch on a workday and want to be sure you've eaten well and something good, this isn't the place. Try Taco Casa...IMHO ?

I LOVE VELVET TACO!!!! Velvet Taco in Norman OK is the best!! I have personally tried the Fish & Chips taco, Chimichurri Steak taco, the Hangover Burger taco, Chicken and Waffle taco, and the MexiCali Shrimp taco. My daughter had The Cuban Taco, and the Slow Roasted Angus Brisket taco. ALL OF THEM were delicious and worth every penny. This place is by far my new favorite dining experience.
