Shannon was wonderful, nice and kind! Food was so good. A little spicy on the Pollo Mango Mojo for me but still delicious. The Cochinito Pibil “Mayan Pulled Achiote Pork” was AMAZING!! I Was sad they ran out of Tres Leches so I'll have to go back to try that another time!

My experience started bad when me and my family entered the restaurant and no-one even looked at us,I addressed the bar tender and told her we needed a seat, she said wait a minute. Minutes past and I addressed her again, and she gave us a table but not without showing her discontent. It was 5 pm and there was some tipsy people already in the bar and something not so legal was going I there ( I will not go into details) . Finally when we got our food, what a disappointment! I got the Cuban steak with coconut rice, the petition was like for my 8 years old child, the steak was cooked well, but had no flavor at all, the dish comes with fried yuca which were some sad dry sticks( for the kitchen: yuca needs to be parboil before it is fried) , the beans are watery and bland. All that food tasted like something you would give to a person who is in a hospital diet,the only good thing I that plate was the avocado and fry plantain. My dad got grilled chicken, with rice, the same story! Dry chicken, all food was bland! My husband got a Mexican plate, and the only good thing was the cheese enchilada, all food was bland too. I have to say our server was the best! Very sweet , attentive, and with great attitude. We will not be back at this place! Worse $60 invested on a meal! For the price of your food, it was not good at all.

Came to this establishment for Taco Tuesday to meet a friend. I showed first and grabbed a table since it was a little busy. After being there for ten minutes no one came to the table to see if I needed anything. Even though the waiter behind the bar went to every table giving drinks and food. The table that was in front of me had members that arrived well after me that was serviced, but passed my table many times and never addressed my table. My friend then arrived, which I told her that I had been there just sitting. It was a little busy, so that’s what I assumed was the reason for the inadequate service. After she.. herself had been there for about 5 or 10 minutes a woman came to the table and gave us chips and salsa. The only reason that this happened was because people were getting up and leaving at another table. She did not greet us nor did she ask if we had been helped. My friend finally got the attention of the the waiter behind the bar, which he immediately stated that some other person was going to help us. While pointing In the direction of a waitress serving food to another table that he, himself had been getting drinks for prior. Again all the while him helping every other table. Whomever the waitress was never came to the our table. At one point, it was thinning out so we figured we would be helped..didn’t happen! They messed up the order of the table behind me, which they sent back. He didn’t even want the order corrected to just take the food back. My friend then tried to get the attention of the this waiter again, since he was literally right there dealing with the table behind us. The waiter walked right by her and never addressed her. At this point we got up and left. At the very best all I can say is thanks for the chips and salsa. We were never given water or even at the very least a menu! We ended up having to go somewhere else. I have been to this place a couple times and I have never had this bad of service. Better yet, I’ve never had this horrible of service anywhere!

Absolutely remarkable.EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious. We were skeptical to try this place because of the 4.3 rating, but we are very pleased we gave this place a shot. I screwed up and didn't order the correct queso and Sharon (bartender) had no issues of fixing it. I was nervous we wouldn't get good service after that, but nope. Sharon was kind and real. She also told us about specials and deals going on during other days of the week!!!! She was busy but still gave us nothing short of exceptional service.The price was a little high BUT worth every penny.We will be back!!!Parking: Parking is directly behind the restaurant.

Date night and first time to eat at 1492. Will definitely be back! There were several items on the menu that I would like to try. You can call it a Mexican style restaurant but there are unique items on the menu that you don't see at other Mexican restaurants. Salsa was amazing! I judge a restaurant by their salsa. The place seemed pretty busy and possibly short handed but service was still very good. Attentive but not intrusive. Drinks were top notch. Sometimes you order drinks and you wonder if there's even alcohol in it. One of the best, if not THE best, margaritas I've ever had.Kid-friendliness: It wasn't our waiter, but I was blown away by how engaged the waiter was with the children at the table he was serving.

The service was so slow. The food was dry and tasteless and it took 45 mins for the second round of drinks. .., we were done with dinner by the time they came. Salsa was good. The steak is a shredded mess, unlike what is shown in the pictures. The waiter's comment was "my menu doesn't have pictures ". No, but Yelp does! Everyone agreed the place was mediocre.
Went there over the weekend and was very disappointed. We went in and the host asked how many, then forgot about us while he made his rounds. After the guy saw us again, he took us to a table and asked if we wanted a high chair, and said yes; He sat us and never brought back a high chair for us. I overheard the server say they were short staffed, which was very noticeable. The server was amazing and on top of it the whole night. The food wasn't the best but fair for the price. Not going back.Kid-friendliness: They had a kids menu but didn't have any coloring books or anything to help keep the children busy while the food was being prepared.Parking: The parking was terrible. Had to make two laps around the block to find a spot and had to walk a good ways with the family in tow.

Our bartender, whos also our server, was terrific. The place was short-staff, but she took great care of us and kept refilling our chips and salsa. Cocktails were surprisingly strong. I loved my mojito so much. Their queso blanco with chorizo was also fantastic. I'm not too impressed with their enchiladas. The chili sauce was okay, but the enchilada was oddly cold compared to the chicken. The main entrée wasn't great, but the good service, drinks, and apps will make me return.

We were disappointed. The house margarita was terrible, very artificial tasting with a strange aftertaste. We had 2 appetizers and 1 entree; they were average at best. The chips and salsa were the best part of the meal. Customers were coming in a steady stream, but we were able to be seated without a reservation on a weekend evening at 630 pm. Despite ample natural light, the decor inside was a little depressing; maybe it was the low ceilings. The restaurant is located in a fun neighborhood (Midtown). The service was fine. Due to the underwhelming food, we will not return.
