First time at BW. Apps were great. Drinks were great. If I were to critique, it would be three small things: 1. I ordered the chicken that's on the bone. It came in a bowl which made it more difficult to cut and eat. 2. I wish their website had instructions for parking in the parking garage. 3. The rain was very heavy that evening and water was coming out of the AC vent. Hopefully just a one time thing

The experience was great the food was the best part. The blend of flavors made the taste very unique, but good. We will definitely go back, and yes it is a little pricey, but what good restaurant isn't.

We came for our anniversary, which is usually an occasion where we hold out for nicer, more upscale restaurants. This place turned out to be a little more casual than we were expecting, which isn't a bad thing, just not what we were expecting. There seemed to be a company party happening in the restaurant, which caused a lot of noise to carry throughout the restaurant. The atmosphere was more reminiscent of somewhere like Olive Garden. So, it's not bad, just not what we expected. Our service was excellent, never having to wait long for each item and presentation was beautiful. The food was really good, especially the Burgundy Mushroom appetizer, as well as our entrees. I got the Honey Roasted Lavender Chicken, and my husband got the English Beef Rib. Both were pretty good. The beef rib reminded me of pot roast, and the chicken was definitely a honey roasted chicken, but still allowed for the floral-ness of the lavender to shine through. The cocktail we ordered was great. The slice of chocolate cake had a really good ganache frosting, but was ultimately a slice of chocolate cake, so maybe try one of the other desserts if you're looking for more of an experience. Overall, we enjoyed our time and would recommend anyone to try it at least once! Thank you, Black Walnut!

I was extremely impressed by Black Walnut. Parking: As anyone knows, finding parking for a restaurant downtown is a pain. Black Walnut however has plenty of free parking. Greeting: We were greeted timely and sat and drinks were taken and brought back in a timely manner. Food: The food is to die, highly recommend paying extra for the steak. Environment: A very business casual vibe. The perfect vibe for a date. Service: We were checked up on constantly to make sure everything was okay.

We really enjoyed our Dinner. It wasn't overly crowded and service was great. I think the food was excellent for the cost. We had the fried green tomatoes, lobster bites, burgundy mushroom, beef ribs and the rack of lamb. We like the ribs and the fried green tomatoes most. Although, we would eat it all again.

Celebrating a friend's birthday. We wound up needing two chairs to accommodate extra people. We were told they could spare any chairs, and there was a wait list for tables. We were there for about 2 hours. There was no point during our visit that all the tables were filled. Very disappointing!

The Black Walnut was amazing!!!!! The service was top notch, the mocktails were great, and the food exceeded any and all expectations. We had the strip steak and the beef rib. Both cooked to perfection the rib literally fell apart with the fork.

P.s. do not hesitate on the black walnut spice cake. It represents the name well.

Absolutely delicious food and friendly staff. Definitely a pricey option, but they deliver on the quality and service to back up their price.

Denise (I know I spelled that wrong) made our experience a core memory. Next time we return, we will be requesting her and I recommend you do the same!! The food was amazing, we chose to take a family style approach as we couldn't decide from the diverse options. Everything we tasted was a pleasant surprise⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A great food venue, solid service. Even received a phone call early in the day to verify vegan options plus request re seating. Only downside, and the sole reason I do not frequent, is it's a very loud restaurant even when only 1/3 full. Hard flat surfaces everywhere with zero things to absorb the sound. I hope the owners correct that because it's a solid menu with solid staff.

The waitresses were nice. The food was good. The appetizer was good as well. I enjoyed the food one glass I had. The atmosphere was different the. Usual, because of an event but never the less, another place that's been well stamped by chef black.
