If you are a Foodie, this is one of the best places to eat in OKC. The food was exceptional and we are so glad we ate here. Our server was well informed over menu selection and you can tell she enjoyed her job. Great food and great service. Highly recommend. This will become one of our go to spots when visiting the city.

Food was fantastic!!! Best lamb I have had in years, but truly all the food was delightful, drinks well crafted as well. Our waitress was highly attentive, even if hard to hear at times with noise level in this restaurant. But the experience was amazing and definitely one of the ones I would trust anything that comes out of their kitchen.

All of our dishes were excellent, with the branzino and the English ribs being particularly memorable. The staff were all friendly and attentive but strikingly young, inexperienced, and unpolished. Our server's friendliness turned into far too many little jokes for such a nice restaurant. The real "ouch" moment, however, was when my wife spilled her drink on the table: several staff apologized as though they had each one done it themselves, and then instead of cleaning it up their first response was to offer to bring us paper towels. Fortunately, another staff member showed up and took it on himself to take a first swipe at it, but he left the table still pretty wet, so we had to ask our server for more paper towels. Hopefully that will go down as a teachable moment for this young staff.

The food was amazing! Our party had salmon (2), branzino, and jerk chicken. On one of the salmon dishes Mac and cheese was subbed in place of the couscous. The Mac and cheese was so good we ordered an additional side of it. Everyone ranted and raved over their dishes as well as shared bites. Not only was the food amazing but so was the service. Our server made sure we were familiar with the menu and ensured all of our needs were met during our dining experience. I would definitely recommend this establishment. If I were local, I would be a regular here.

The lamb chops were superb! I had a French 75 for my beverage, and it was delicious. The staff were extremely hospitable and on point with their service. The restaurant allowed us to bring in a small cake for my dad's birthday. The whole experience was top tier.

Totally random but their house salad was the best salad I’ve ever had. Food was great too!

We ate here twice in one week. The dishes are inventive and delicious. I highly recommend. My only issue was the noise level was way too high. We couldn't have a conversation with the person sitting across from us!

Black Walnut offers a beautifully curated dining experience with bold flavors and thoughtful service. I started with the Brussels Caesar—warm, savory, and full of flavor in every bite. For my entrée, the New Zealand lamb rack was perfectly executed. The creamy hummus paired wonderfully with the pickled radish and onion, which added just the right acidity to cut through the richness of the lamb. The pistachios added a satisfying crunch that tied it all together. Dessert was the bartender-recommended lemon tart, which I took to-go. It was both flaky and creamy—absolutely worth the extra indulgence. Big thanks to Tina at the bar, who made the night even better. I asked for a mezcal variation of a Final Word, and she nailed it—smoky, smooth, and a perfect way to end the evening. Service, cocktails, and cuisine were all on point.

I called, after the fact, to let them know of our experience, but voicemail was full. The service was excellent, the food was excellent but it was not served at the right temperature. I had a cast iron strip, the meat was hot but the toppings were very disappointing for they were barely warm. Contrary to the menu’s description, the strips were covered with a mushroom sauce that was barely warm. This sauce also covered the sides (there was no Peruvian potatoes) which were also barely hot and they looked like leftovers. The flavors were excellent but I wished my food, like my daughter’s English beef ribs, was hotter and perhaps more fresh (??). We have a feeling, my food was ready before the ribs, and it may have sat under a hot lamp (??). Did not say anything to the amazing hostess or server, tried calling today to spare them the review, but was not able to leave a message contrary to the instructions. We love chef Black, but his kitchen yesterday did not rise up to his very high standards. We’ll go back for one more try
