This place definitely lives up to the hype. Excellent food and flavor. I got the carne asada. The steak was cooked perfectly, loved the potatoes, beans, plantains, tortillas, salsa and even the rice is good but I don’t eat corn so I had to pick that out. My wife got the ranchero burrito and the ranchero sauce tasted more like a tomato soup which wasn’t my wife’s favorite. I loved the horchata. The French toast was also well done.
Service was decent.

Cons: the seating was very intimate. You sit super close to everyone and is kinda crammed. The noise level is also really loud.

Overall, I’ll definitely be back.

I was making out with my wife when we were interrupted by the fantastic service. She wisely asked for marriage advice. We ordered our beverages and ordered a breakfast appetizer in celebration of our love. French ... toast. They wisely brought it out first.

The food is great and the service is outstanding. It's a great place for lovers.

Just go and thank me later. The food was phenomenal, the waitstaff was slammed yet still lovely. Could not recommend this place highly enough

Listen up! If you haven't been here before you're totally missing out. It's small, intimate and the food is excellent! Prepare your taste buds for some of the best food west of the Mississippi. Service is excellent, waitstaff is helpful and the owner/manager is cool beans.

Cafe Kacao is an oldie but a goodie. I have gone here with my loved ones and my co-workers several times and I am liking the new look! It has been awhile since I’ve gone back; however, the food has always been consistently good. I will say the types of coffee drinks here are phenomenal. The Chai latte with oat milk and the French Toast latte tasted great and was not overwhelming sweet. I love that the French Toast latte was served warm in a brandy glass.
The French Toast is their best seller for a reason and was split between four people. Definitely get it as one of my co-workers said it was the best French Toast he’s ever had. Although, you can’t go wrong with their pancakes. The French Toast had a wonderful caramel sauce and the breading itself had a nice crispy crunch all over. The fruit is also a nice touch to cut back on the richness. I ordered my usual Migallas with chorizo. If you like a little crunch in your meal, this is a great option because of the tortilla chips. Be mindful of how big the portions are. I brought home leftovers and my dad had some. The next day, he was still talking about the Migallas and he likes eating it with corn tortillas. My friends ordered the Tikal and the Pupusas Breakfast. Both delicious dishes. Service is great and I do recommend joining the waitlist via Yelp to ensure you’ll get seated. Otherwise, the restaurant can get busy and wait times can go over an hour. Overall, it is a must-try and I will definitely be back again!

Wonderful intimate experience sitting at the bar top. Medium sized restaurant has 6 booths, 6 tables and 4 bar seats facing the kitchen and coffee bar. Waitress informed us that wait can sometimes be up to three hours, definitely would recommend getting a reservation well in advance. Reservation only books spot for waitlist, must check in via phone for waitlist day of THEN check in at restaurant with entire party present. Plenty of staff made the whole experience very streamlined. Every staff member was pleasant and very personable. Coffee is STRONG and locally roasted from Sincere Coffee Roasters. Both pupusas’ were delicious but I’d recommend the Vaca Frita pupusas with the extra hollandaise, eggs, onion and shredded beef and made in house chicharrones. Both plates were about $20 but enormous portion sizes. Their burritos are huge, second largest I’ve seen in OKC. Everything out of the kitchen looked amazing, definitely worthy of best breakfast in OKC! Beers are $5 and cocktails are very reasonably priced. Parking lot is small but there is limited parking available behind Jeff’s dinner and some street parking. Please don’t park in front of the stop sign! Recommend ride share or carpooling.

If you are visiting OKC or you live anywhere near there, you must try breakfast at Cafe Kacao. The food is outstanding, the servers are wonderfully friendly, the place is small but beautiful, full of vibrant colors and conversations happening.

PRO TIP: in order to get a table on the weekends, either come at the opening of the morning, or watch the waitlist on yelp several hours in advance of when you want to be there (especially if you have more than 3 in your party).

Service was great but the food was really lacking. I got the wild berry pancakes but they were very bland. I was expecting the pancakes to be quite sweet but I think they forgot to add sugar to mine?? Normally things are too sweet for me anywhere I go so I know it's not me. I recommend the chorizo potatoes though, they were really good.

Too bad there isn’t a 5+ star option because this cafe deserves it. Get on the wait list because it’s definitely a hot spot! Colorful interior. Our waiter was Nick. Extremely polite helpful and very attentive. His recommendations were spot on. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully plated. The servings are generous. The menu is online so be prepared to scan your table when you come in. Their coffee bar serves both cocktails and mocktails. Our coffee choices were surprisingly delicious. We were greeted by the manager who appeared to work as hard as the staff to make sure your experience is wonderful.

Parking: Might have to find alternative place to park their parking lot is smaller than the amount of customers.

Kid-friendliness: Plenty of children during the visit, staff was very good with all of them.
