Took a dear friend for her birthday, the first time here, and it was just right. The food was excellent--steak perfect, halibut also, not easy to cook fish perfectly, but it was--and the sides were excellent. Gourmet cooking, I'd say, but at a good price. The wine list was very small, but the wine was good and the glass filled and then some. Good value indeed. We had a quiet and happy time--compliments to chefs and server.
The restaurant was experiencing air conditioning problems, so it was a little warm. The service was terrible! Our server finally brought water. Disappeared for awhile. I observed him across the dinning room unpacking glassware in an anti-room. When he finally came back to our table, I mentioned that we felt abandoned, He replied " sorry, I had to wipe some glasses". We had to ask, and then wait, for a wine list. Our party of 4 waited a long time to get our orders taken....
Chefs do Domani is located inside Platt College and is a "training ground" for culinary students. Management & staff are all gracious and the food is wonderful. A small menu but offers lite dining or full meals, great desserts and even a glass of wine if you wish! I love the quiet atmosphere!
