Traveling for work, front desk recommended this restaurant next door. The lady taking the order must have been new, she wasn't sure what to ask, and she spoke too low. The food looked good but was average. Ordered the pizza, didn't care for the crust.

I have a loved one in OU and my dad found this place. He absolutely loved it brought me back before we left for Kansas and I fell in love. Back a week later and ate here or had take out again. They are wonderful people all the way around, every shift. Make you feel at home and like they are family!!!!! Thank you for caring and the food is very reasonably priced and you don't get portions like they give you anymore, anywhere

First time trying this place and I liked it. My only issue was getting cold sausage links with my meal. Other than that it was good

They need to just condemn the place already. You would have to be pretty desperate for food to make this the top of your list. We went due to the positive online reviews. But we were severely disappointed in everything about it. Never again and please stay away if your worried Gordon Ramsey may show up and shut the place down. It was horrific. The place is falling apart from the outside in. The place smells like an old bowling alley from the 70s. Not to mention nothing about it has been updated since about the 70s either. The food was cafeteria grade at best. Actually that's giving it more than it deserves. I had the chicken fries steak.. cold fries bland and soggy steak. Wife had catfish with came with a quart of cooking oil apparently. Pork chop dinner and burger were so..so.. we left thinking we may need a tennis shot after being there. No matter what these positive requests say. Someone is either getting paid on the back end. Hands down the number #1 WORST place i have ever eaten. Bar none. Wife told me if I ever stop at another like it, she will just walk out. I'm with her...

We found this restaurant bc it was about a mile from our hotel. It’s an older establishment but the staff were very nice. The food was excellent- I got a burger with fries- and there were large portion sizes, too! We were pleasantly surprised !

The food was amazing and the service very attentive. If you're in the area, this hidden gem is definitely worth a try!

I've seen Chelio's from the highway for years and didn't know what type of restaurant it was. It finally came up in my Google maps search for restaurants. It's literally right off the highway.

Rene was super nice and checked on us the perfect amount. The food was amazing. My steak, shrimp, baked potato was cooked perfectly. I wanted to try so many things on the menu. So many options. I can't wait to go eat there again.

Chelio’s Diner – Oklahoma City, OK

The hour was late. The sky, indifferent. Inside Chelio’s, a crimson glow swallowed us whole. The booths—blood red. The ceiling—veined with electric color. It felt less like a diner and more like a shrine to something beautifully decayed.

We sat cloaked in shadow and quiet laughter. The food arrived—heavy, sincere. There’s an honesty here. The kind time forgets, but souls remember. A chipped ceramic bowl held something simple—enchiladas, maybe—but there was warmth to it. Not just heat—something deeper. Familiar.

Outside, the neon flickered. Inside, it lit our faces like a stage. I could almost hear a reverb-soaked snare. I could almost sing.

And if the end were to begin somewhere, it might be here—beneath these buzzing lights, with a half-finished plate and the first tremor of something unholy rising from the kitchen.
