I have no complaints. If you are a regular with small businesses, there’s some things you just learn how to get used to. A long wait time in Cornish Jerkhouse’s sense means the food is being prepared and made with love. Yes, we had to wait a while, but for the amount of satisfaction we received from the food? WORTH IT. The staff/waitress was very nice and we had no issues with anyone else.

Now what you really came for, the food review… we ordered the:
- Turkey Leg Buss Down w/ Mac n Cheese
- A Two Meat Plate (Catfish and Jerk Chicken) w/ Fried Plantains and Collard Greens
- Oxtails Dinner with Sweet Potatoes and Cornbread

Our food was DELICIOUS. Every bite. Nothing was over-seasoned. The cornbread was made perfectly and all of the meat was tender, fall off the bone, and seasoned just right. We do wish we would’ve gotten another plantain because that was one of the best I’ve ever had.

I was worried about ordering from here bc last time my food took forever. I got the seafood platter. surprisingly my food was ready on time and hot. Got it to go. Well I eat and drive so I reach to grab my grilled shrimp and it was not in the bag. I went back they acted like I was lying about the shrimp but I didn’t say anything. I get the shrimp and leave. Idk what seasoning they used but it was horrible on the shrimp hated it. The rest of the food was okay but VERY SALTY greens were salty and so was the fish. Only thing that was good was the cornbread.

First let me say, the ONLY reason I gave a two on the service is because this guy whomever he is, maybe the owner because I've seen him in there before, was very RUDE but the guy at the register was super nice, very friendly.

Even reading the response of other reviews proves my point! Non professional, petty, and unintelligent! Not professional at all. I can say, the guy at the register was super nice, though. The food was good, I didn't like the rice, it seems like it was warmed up, not cooked fresh.
I asked this guy with a MCM hat on, if he could get them to bring our drinks. This guy took his time, went on cleaning tables and the bar, he purposely staggered. I waited maybe 15 min then went up there to get my drinks. That's when this guy came up there. I asked him did he come tell the cashier about my drinks. He responded very condescendingly stating, "don't you see he's busy?" I responded by asking in the same tone as him, "so can you get my drinks?" He responded by telling me "I need to be patient". My thing is, I asked you for my drinks, you knew he was busy, so why didn't you just go get my drinks? I'm not arguing with this low life cause I had to get my food and trust I put an extra prayer on my food before we ate because he look like he has a very nasty demeanor!

This is my third time eating from there and that's all I need. Everytime I've went in there this guy is always rude! The service becuase of him does not deserve my money or deserve for me to pay those high prices for a fake Jamaican spot! I mean they aren't even Jamaican. #fake The food good but it surely isn't Jamaican cuisine. The only reason I went back is because my son wanted to try it.

I suggest, if you're reading this, go to D&B Daiquiri spot. They are super nice, very customer service oriented. The food is very good and they aren't trying to be Jamaican. When you walk in there the energy is much better. This Cornish non jerk spot, the workers don't even look happy. It definitely has a negative ora!

I said what i said. So when you as the owner or whomever responds to people reviews, read this, your response will not mean anything so go ahead and take your best shot. Your just being very petty and why would anyone want to patronage a business like that. You're only digging you're own grave!

By the way, I would also suggest to this guy, stay out of the kitchen on your phone and no gloves. You never know the occupation of your customers you're being rude to. I watched you in the kitchen on your phone AND to add no gloves when I was at the register ordering my food. Just a word of advice anyone in the kitchen without the necessary attire and using electronic devices is a clear violation in food and sanitation regulations in Oklahoma City!

I wanted to love this place considering I’ve heard nothing but great things, but, unfortunately our first time visiting will be our last time. My kids and I ALL got sick from eating there last night. It would be hard to convince myself it was solely Cornish Jerkhouse had only one of us gotten sick but since all three of us had diarrhea and were vomiting, it’s a pretty fair and accurate assumption. I really hate to leave such a low review but anyone thats ever had to deal with food poisoning knows the level of discomfort that comes with it.

Best turkey leg I’ve ever eaten! The macaroni, greens, and cornbread 5 stars too. Great atmosphere and music.

Took my daughter and siblings here for her birthday dinner last year and it was wonderful. The owner sang happy birthday to her and he can blow! We loved everything about the place. The food was delicious.
The staff was awesome!

Waited an hour for my food. I guess my ticket got lost or something. After and hour I got a refund and my food finally got made. Placed order at 3:54, refund 4:54, and meal 5:08. Usually it wouldn't be a big deal accidents happen but I was very hungry that day wanted expected a great meal after work and was there for longer than expected. When I had got my food I had just wanted takeout at that point. Since it was my first time going I didn't know the mac and cheese had pork in it since I couldn't eat it so was pretty bummed at that too. Maybe next time have a separate menu for Mac without bacon. I don't think it's entirely necessary to have meat in Mac. I didn't bother to complain at that point and just raced home to beat traffic and scarf it down. I'm sure the food it's great but just based on the experience I couldn't in my right mind go again. I will go elsewhere.

I hate they didn’t have catfish or oxtails but I chose the 3 meat plate and it was very sensational 🤭. With a strawberry Hennessy lemon drop. 10/10 recommend. The jerk sauce is 🔥

NO EXCUSE Price on menu for Turkey Leg Buss Down different from what I was charged. After I complained owner said when people start patronizing his business more is when he will ake new menu with prices. Menu shows one side Mac and cheese or greens 25.73 or both 29.73. I was charged 25.73 and greens 2.01. I was given my money for my greens without taxes and an attitude. Poor bad business and cashier had and attitude when I questioned her. I patronize black business but this one questionable.

Probably my favorite restaurant in OKC, from the wings, or oxtails or turkey legs. Everything is so good
