Great food, best corn tortillas in town. Love the stacked enchiladas!

The service was good and quick, but the food is mediocre at best. The chimichanga had a lot of cheese but the Chipotle wine sauce was completely overpowering and could taste anything else. The beef taco was OK, but the rice and chicken fajita chulpa were disappointing. The fajita chicken was overcooked and I all could taste was the char.

Food is decent, proceed right. Got enchiladas (cheese) and they are always pretty good. Service was good and fast. Will go back if in the Mexican at the mall mood again

I come to el Chico ALL the time and we LOVE it! We always are seated quickly, presented chips and salsa immediately after being seated and our server is always prompt. I've tried almost everything on the menu and haven't had a complaint about a single thing. The food is good but the service is AMAZING! Recently my server was Shelby whom I believe is a new face around el Chico but was very friendly, fast, knowledgeable, and very cute I might add ;) she recommended the Mexican apple pie for dessert and it was really good. In conclusion, I definitely would recommend el Chico to anyone who loves good Tex men, fast and friendly service, at an affordable price. Whomever is managing the place really deserves a pat on the back.

Very disappointed with our experience here. We go to the movies at quail spring a lot and love Mexican food so we thought this would be a good place to get a bite before our movie. We should have gone to Taco Bell like my husband suggested. First of all, our server smelled so strongly of old cigarette smoke that I got a headache was very nauseous by the end of our meal. Not that everyone is going to have this experience here, but there should be some standard. I also saw another server coughing into a tray of food. The chips were not great, the salsa was okay and the cheese sauce was bad. I got the appetizer sampler and everything tasted a little off, like it was made of old food. The queso had a good flavor and some steak things that were on it. The tacos were so soggy that the bottom half of the stale shells were completely disintegrated. Our server did not know much about any of the food (after working there for a month) but she did warn us that the fried ice cream was no good, and she was right. We got it despite her warning because we had a free coupon. I do believe that if they had fresher ingredients and made improvements on the service, it could he good. I am wondering if they are not getting much business and are going downhill. My husband got a chicken chimichanga and really liked it, so that is a plus. I would mainly not go back because I am scared about the hygiene and quality of food.

What an AMAZING experience!! My much better half and I went to dinner here last night. We recently moved to OKC from Norman and have been craving El Chico for weeks. We finally were able to make some time to drive to Quail Springs and eat at our favorite Tex-Mex place. We were a little worried about the food not being the same as in Norman but it was perfect. Seemed a little slow for dinner time, but I guess that worked out in our favor. Our overall experience could not have been better, especially our server Ginger! She makes you feel at home. I haven't met someone so attentive and thoughtful. Completely worth the trip up there. If you do find yourself eating here, be sure to ask to sit in Ginger's section. You will not regret it!

The food didn't taste like real Mexico food. It was bland without a real taste. And the cheese casso was watered down. The only thing I liked was the raspberry tea.🍹

Weird. The menu had changed since it was on May. Bummer. Atmosphere was gone.....waitresses were swamped and frustrated. We won't be back. A real loss when they moved.

El Chico has been in OKC since I was a child. In my opinion, they still offer one of the best Tex-Mex menus available. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy one of OKC's oldest and finest eateries!
