Flip's Wine Bar & Trattoria

My wife and I along with our two kids went on a Friday night. It wasn’t busy and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was pretty quiet and straight forward, which is fine. Everything seemed good. We were sitting on the patio and enjoying the artichoke dip, soups and salads. We finished all of that after having been there for about 45 minutes. We continued to sit there for exactly another 45 minutes without seeing our waiter, let alone getting our entrees we ordered. By the time our food did come out our kids were (understandably) antsy and ready to go. We asked for to-go boxes and gtfo of there with no comment from our waiter about the wait. It’s a shame as this was our first experience

Pretty good food, our server was experienced, had knowledge of the menu, knowledge of how things went down in the kitchen (which was very important for me because I have some pretty serious food restrictions). Was super impressed with there gluten-free options and then I didn't react from eating there, so that's a plus. Overall great service, great food, I will be back!

It's been 30 years plus since I've been to Flips. We just moved back to OKC and wanted a filling, not to heavy meal before grocery shopping. Flips did not disappoint! We split a delicious meat pizza, & each had a generous half Caesar salad. Great service from Daniel. Can't wait to come back to this awesome historic Italian restaurant.

By far the worst Italian dinner I’ve ever eaten …Flavorless from start to finish. It’s a cozy place but nothing more… Please don’t waste your time and money! It’s like they opened a can of tomato sauce and added it to the pasta. The eggplant in the Hoffman pasta was not cooked and the sauce tasteless.The sausage in the Rigatoni pasta with Diablo sauce was extremely salty. The garden salad was so vinegary that it altered your palate. Such a disappointment!!!

Very disappointed. I went with my husband this past week and then went back tonight for a to-go order to make sure I wasn't judging our experience too harshly. First of all, they have a full bar that looks fairly nice, but they do not make whiskey sours with egg whites and the bartender didn't know much about what I was talking about. He was rude, too. They don't have Don Julio tequila either. There was nothing special about the pricey food they serve. We liked our server, Matt, who was absolutely top-notch, but the food was mediocre at best. My salad tonight was loaded with croutons and lacked the grilled chicken it was supposed to have. For $16 I expected more than a dinner salad. I also ordered the meatball appetizer and there was only 2, wow. I suspect corners are being cut on quality and quantity. I don't plan on going back.
