I just can't get into it.Dark, trendy space which impressively could be a restaurant in any big city.I used to live in OKC and moved to Vegas, and portions here are smaller than Vegas izakayas, and prices here are higher than Vegas izakayas. Not understanding how this is a sustainable concept in a place with a median income of $47,000.People say this concept is owned by the folks who own Goro. I enjoy and can get into Goro, but Gun is not a place I would go back to, let alone frequent. The food was good, but neither memorable, tasty, nor filling enough to spend the money on giving it a second shot.

The food was incredible and the waiter was so helpful and the drinks were so tasty! We couldn't have enjoyed our time at Gun anymore than we did. Go try it out and be ready to try something new and be surprised.

First time here and it was great. It was like tapas, but Japanese style. That eggplant wonton dish was hands down my favorite. I may not be a vegetarian, but o do appreciate when care and finesse is given to a delicate veg like eggplant. They had some fun house cocktails and a helpful, patient, and informative staff. We did it for a happy hour, but I think a nice lunch would be good too, the food comes out piping hot as soon as it's ready.

Japanese tapas...everything we tried was wonderful. Music was a little loud, but we will definitely be going back.

We had that nine course omakase for Valentine's day, and it was very good. Each course was served with enough time to enjoy the course before it, and I was always looking forward to what was next. The courses made me want to come back and see what else they have.

After having it on two separate occasions, I can easily say their Tokyo hot chicken is one of the best things I've ever eaten. Frankly your dining companion(s) may fight you for it.

My friend and I came here on a Saturday night and I was not prepared for the experience ahead of me. We were asked what kind of seating we liked and we were taken to our seats. We started with the eggplant wontons. Then we tried the chicken meatballs, chicken thigh, and chicken skin. The first two were awesome and we dipped them I the ray sauce and that sauce is fire. But the skin came out a little to light for our taste and the waitress had those redone for us, Nina was very accommodating and we had a lot of questions with it being our first time. My fren got the mushroom udon and added Momo because it was Happy hour, then I ordered the Osaka okonomiyaki let me tell you the top was moving. I personally do not like my food to move but my fren thought it was pretty cool. It took my (awhile) to try it because once again Nina was very patient and explained to me why it was moving and this dish smells very fishy because of this. So when I finally went in it was quite delicious until crunch cabbage. The wasabi aioli sauce that they put on top of it was great I just started wiping it off and licking it. Oh I forgot one thing we also had some kind of steak sandwich sorry I don't know the name that came with purple cabbage i don't know what was on that bread but it was oh so good. I also tried whiskey for the first time

Came here with a group of girlfriends and we got a bunch of different items off the menu and shared. Everything we had was delicious!! Great Atmosphere, Great food, Great music, and the gentlemen who waited on us was attentive, fun and quick. Will definitely be back.

Now that I've been here a few times I feel like I can attest, Gun is amazing & consistent! I would recommend making a reservation, as both times I've gone they were booked up! There is street parking readily available and the atmosphere is intimate and cozy. They have traditional seating, a bar top and also a grill top-where you can watch your food being prepared. I've enjoyed sampling both random choices from the menu and the chef's special. The chef's choice is well worth the price, it is SO MUCH food! You practically get to try the menu, which I loved.

Another killer concept by the stellar folks who brought us Goro (if you don't know, it's the best ramen not only in OK but stands up to spots in NY and Tokyo that I've been). I can't rave enough about Gun. It's my favorite in the city right now. The menu is inventive, but comforting - bursting with so much flavor and texture. Can't go wrong with Yakitori - chicken skin and mushrooms are among my favorites. Don't miss the Sando or Curry Udon, but honestly every item I've had has been exciting. The cocktails are great, from the traditional Japanese highballs to the surprising mocktails which still give you that pleasing bite sans liquor. Aside from the food and drink, the space is the best kind - cozy, dark and moody, with a kickin' playlist - like the tucked away spots in NYC. Recommend requesting a spot at either of the bars for an extra dose of ambiance as you watch the masters at work. To top it all off, the service is amazing. Knowledgeable and friendly without any hovering overkill. Gun is the best spot in OKC right now all around.

Several of the dishes were real winners. I think we tried one of everything. For some reason though it just missed the mark.

I've always wanted to try a yakitori restaurant, and it so happens that my friend's barbershop we were visiting (shout out to Cutsmith's in the Paseo Arts District) was around the corner. I would say the experience is really cool and it smells really good. Amongst 3 people, the bill was high for the amount and quality of the food. We ordered mostly off the Happy Hour menu, and even then the bill was a lot higher than what I expected. I got to try the eggplant dumplings. These were very delicious and I really enjoyed this. Around $10. Gyoza: good, but I've had better. Chicken breast: good, but not for the price Chicken skin: had higher expectations for this but to me, the texture was a bit weird. It reminded me of chicharrons, not much flavor unless you add lemon. Chicken thigh: probably the best option out of all. Chicken meatball: reminded me of stuff you could buy prepackaged, wouldn't recommend. Bit too salty. Like I said, good experience for one time, at least for me that's the case.

My date and I went here on a spur but I had heard for a while that this spot is pretty good. We were sat at the bar and our waitress, Katie and bartender, Mason, were both lovely as well as attentive. We ended up deciding on the chef's special and it's $45/person and let me tell you, it's well worth it. The cocktails we got, the macadamia mai tai and two others I can't remember were refreshingly delicious!! The seemingly never-ending courses were superb, especially the tender, smoky chicken on a stick, the stir-fry udon (my fav), and the freshly fried Okinawan donuts tied it all up beautifully. We left 100% satisfied and with a full belly. The ambiance is sexy, the music is tasteful and fun, and this joint is overall just a must go! Will be back again

Carefully researched and presented; one of the best dining experiences in OKC. Late night hours!
