The danger in giving a 5 star review is that your favorite spot will become crowded and lose its charm. That said, we often go and are the only couple at the bar which isn’t right for a place this awesome. Great microbrewery with a wonderful space for a group to get together and watch a game on 2 huge tvs. The upstairs space is perfect for a book club or get together with friends when you don’t want to clean your house. They encourage you to bring in food and there are some delicious Britton District eateries on the same block. The brewery is family and dog friendly. Why aren’t you already there?
Great service, and great beers!
Amazing beers, awesome atmosphere, and most importantly….friendly service!! Gabriel was amazing and super nice! 10/10!!
Went to see my pals Rach and Griff play some tunes. The staff and atmosphere were awesome. The beers were tasty and affordable.
Tried to visit Roughtail but no dogs allowed inside and the patio was too exposed in the heat- but so glad we found Madhopper instead! VERY pup friendly (cold water bowl and milk bones on arrival), nice cool floors after a hot walk, and some really interesting brews. Not your standard juicy IPAs, and excellent service. Highly recommend! A great addition to the OKC scene.
Cool spot. The atmosphere was nice and the space is big. The bartender was nice and friendly. We just stopped in and had a couple of the small sizes of beers to try a few of their brews on our way to another spot. The beers were pretty good for the styles they had to offer. They didn’t have an IPA. I would definitely check them out though. It is nice to be able to try smaller sizes so you can check out multiple options without having to drink a pint of each.
One of my favorite places to work at! I own a Photo Booth company and we love working private parties here. Perfect for a fun birthday party!
Most of OKC’s craft breweries are located near the downtown district, but not all. Madhopper Brewing is one of those exceptions, located in the northern reaches of town along Britton Road. Housed with a row of old brick structures, it is a perfect setting for a craft brewery, with plentiful shared parking a few feet west.I was impressed with Madhopper’s variety of brews, albeit with a limited number of offerings. I assembled a flight. King Palaron (Pale Ale; 5.6% ABV; 38 IBU), Brewnecorn (Imperial IPA; 9.5% ABV; 92 IBU), Hurticane (Farmhouse Ale; 6% ABV; 24 IBU), and Venus (Lasger; unknown stats) comprised my journey through the menu. They were all tasty renditions, but I especially found the King Palaron to my liking, so much so that I purchased a 64-ounce growler and had it filled with this to take home to Texas. Normally I would have gone with the Brewnecorn IPA, but its high ABV turned me off a bit. It’s hard to drink more than one without feeling it.My only concern about Madhopper is also one of its strengths: it is very family friendly. I applaud them as well as the young families I saw that Saturday night, because a lot of breweries are not kid-friendly. Similarly, some parents do not feel comfortable in such surroundings. But…and this may paint me as a grumpy old man…I think it is important for parents to control their little ones. There were several very young kids running and screaming throughout the taproom, seriously detracting from the ambience.Remember, a craft brewery is not the same as Chuck E. Cheese or Dave & Buster’s. I probably would have stayed longer, but it became a little too much to bear. Otherwise, great beer, and I look to return sometime, maybe later in the evening when little kids are supposed to be asleep.
Dog friendly and good red wine!!!?
Was surprised to see a brewery in this area but it was great. Great beer, great company and a great brewer who loves to talk beer!!I will be back!!
