My family and I were staying at a hotel in Bricktown, Oklahoma City, during our visit in the holiday season. Our hotel, the Hilton Hampton Inn, was located right next to Brickopolis and the ballfield! When checking into the hotel, the team members provided us with a map of Bricktown and all the fun activities we could explore in Bricktown! Come to find out, after our journey on the Bricktown Water Taxi, Bricktown was recently renovated and had a significant revitalization to become one of the city's premier entertainment destinations! Bricktown has a mix of entertainment, dining, and attractions. When we checked in on a Saturday night, the restaurants in Bricktown were packed, and the nightclubs were open! Talking with a local, Bricktown does get relatively busy on Friday and Saturday nights only. Bricktown has a beautiful canal, a waterway lined with brick-paved sidewalks, bridges, and charming architecture. While visiting Bricktown, you can take their water taxi for a tour. I have been to San Antonio, Texas, stayed at the Riverwalk, and come to find out, the water taxi in Bricktown OKC is the exact same as the one in San Antonio! As you tour the canal, you will see a variety of restaurants, cafes, shops, and even some historical monuments! Another feature of Bricktown is the Chesapeake Energy Arena. This Arena hosts sporting events, concerts, and other live performances. It is also the home of NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder! All of Bricktown has a historic charm, with the red-brick buildings. Some of them have been repurposed as offices, apartments, and even remodeled restaurants! My family and I enjoyed walking around Bricktown. It was quiet from Sunday through Wednesday, during our stay. We ate at a few restaurants in Bricktown, such as the Old Spaghetti factory and Brickopolis. We also rode on the water taxi! There were not too many people visiting Bricktown a few weeks before New Years. We had fun, though, and would totally visit again!

Hubby and I decided to visit since the photos of this area reminded us of San Antonio's Riverwalk. A few notes from a tourist perspective:- All parking in the Bricktown area, including street parking, is paid parking. We found lots ranging from $5 to $10.- All business along the water canal are either bars or restaurants. There is no shopping or stores to browse.- The walk along the canal is nice with lots of cross over bridges. A lap around the canal is about one mile.Since neither Hubby nor I are drinkers and the weather was very hot with no shopping areas to duck into, we left after a lap around the canal that took less than an hour to visit.Great area to gather with friends for drinks or have a meal, but not much else to do.

Meh...there's really not much going on in Bricktown. Before visiting I read up on the area and had seen that the pandemic hit the area pretty hard. To be honest, that's probably an understatement. There are a only handful of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues that are largely concentrated on one end of the canal. Much of the area consists of vacant warehouses and shops. It could be a really cool venue if they're able to bring back additional shops and restaurants. We visited on a Friday night, and by the time we left around 10pm, the area was largely deserted. Dinner at Pearl's Crabtown was pretty good as was the water taxi. The Tipsy Tiki bar had a good location, but was pretty marginal so we only stayed for one round of drinks. They don't serve food or appetizers, so I can only imagine what kind of drunkfest it turns into when anyone actually shows up in Bricktown. In summary, wander over and check it out. Just keep your expectations low and don't expect much. If possible, try and take the shuttle from your hotel to avoid paying $10-15 for parking.

Bricktown is the quaint historic district of downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I just happened to discover it in a brochure when I pulled over at a Visitors Welcome Center when crossing the Oklahoma/Texas border. Bricktown has a very touristy feel to it (which I appreciated) and resembles the Riverwalk area of San Antonio, Texas. You have the charming little river running straight through the center of the quarter with restaurants, bars and pubs situated off to each side. If you're interested in coming here and having a pleasant meal outside, they offer plenty of seating with tables and chairs, especially during evening times with lights illuminating the pedestrian walking pathway. This Bricktown Historic District is not even 1 mile long...maybe 1/2 a mile at the most. So, although it's not nearly as long as the San Antonio Riverwalk, still it resembles it as sort of a miniature version. You can even take one of those vintage riverboat rides that leads you down the waters. Also here in downtown OKC (exactly across the street) is Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, home of the LA Dodgers Minor league Baseball Franchise. I actually went to a game back over the summertime on a beautifully sunny Sunday afternoon. It was fun. And...a little further away from this Bricktown District is the Paycom Center, home of the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder. Overall, I believe visiting Oklahoma City is worthwhile for a nice weekend getaway, and if you do visit this under the radar city in the heart of the Middle of America, then you should stop and spend some time here at Bricktown, at the very least casually walking the pathway doing some window shopping, browsing and people watching. Btw, I also suggest for good photo opportunities, walk and stand on top of any of the bridges for scenic overlook views of the entire district. Alright, this is the Bricktown Historic Quarter of downtown Oklahoma City!

Growing up in Oklahoma I can only give Bricktown five stars of course. Oh the history, the history is what it's all about. I've seen this place go from dark and scary to even enjoyable in February "burrrrr"! As a kid I didn't understand the full history of Bricktown and it's entire purpose and the wonderful variety of people that ran it though out time. As a kid that was the place our family would get disconnected bent canned goods, sounds scary now but was a staple on our table. Some weekends I remember the old school Katt radio block parties in Bricktown being a fun time as a kid. I love the ballpark, I do appreciate how the Maps project really cleaned up the area back years ago. The ballpark along with places like the Bass Pro Shop and the excellent restaurants like Earls bbq and classic Ihop behind the field make it amazing. My wife and I never felt unsafe. There was a moment when some random guy pulled up and flipped me off. I'm assuming he has me mistaken because all I could do is laugh! Always one in the crowd when we venture back into Oklahoma. Overall, yes if you're visiting OKC definitely hit up Bricktown it's a very historic and beautiful place to spend your time.

I mean I guess it's something to do if you're near downtown OKC, but I wouldn't come back here. Chain restaurants, no shopping. Blah.

It's OKAY. If you have toddlers with you I wouldn't suggest it. They have mini golf where all the adults are heavily drinking. There's an arcade as well but poor games. The bathroom in the arcade was completely disgusting, it's definitely not kept up with. I highly dislike that you have to pick a "time slot" for the water taxi. Why can't we just purchase tickets and wait for the next round? So pointless. Most in the river walk is adult restaurants and bars.

Bricktown is the place us locals joke about avoiding in OKC, but it really is a nice venue to check out if you're in the area. Bricktown features the Bricktown Ballpark, a water canal, miniature golf, and numerous restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues. If you're visiting the area, it's a must-stop place. Unlike many tourist areas, the prices here are very reasonable and parking is affordable. If you're not into paying $10 per car, park downtown and ride the trolley to the heart of Bricktown.

A most interesting part an industrial area that has been revitalized into an entertainment venue smack in the heart of Oklahoma City with a man-made canal and water taxi that runs through the entire area of Bricktown! Mickey Mantle's Restaurant and The Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark anchor the top end of this beautiful area and other places of note are the Bourbon St., Café and Coyote Ugly Bar and Grill. This is a great way to get an insight into the history of Oklahoma City via The Bricktown Water Taxi and is certainly a must see for anybody going to this beautiful part of Oklahoma.

I haven't been to OKC in forever and wow, they've done a great job upgrading the city, particularly Bricktown!! A river walk and great eating and just a nice atmosphere! A must see for visiting what used to be a very boring city!

This is a really nice urban entertainment center in the heart of OKC. I don't know how much tourist attraction value it has as someone who was just visiting, but it definitely has value to a local resident looking for something to do. On the far east side is the ballpark where the OKC Dodgers (formerly Red Hawks) play. On the far west side is the arena where the OKC Thunder play. Along the south side is a massive movie theater. Lining the northern side are restaurants, bars, and stores, with hotels dotting the perimeters. in the middle is the Oklahoma River with water taxis available to take you on roughly hour-long tours, weather permitting. My wife and I swung by the area and had dinner at local restaurants both times. We highly recommend coming here.

We loved our time spent in Bricktown and can't wait to come back! We want to bring the kids next time for some canoeing and rafting. We loved the boat ride and the shops and restaurants. There is so much to do in the area.
