I had the pleasure to watch Not Your Average Joe start up after the owner, Tim, bought the former Hank's Coffee Shop. I moved away about a year ago for work, so I was pleasantly surprised by the additions to the decor and expansion of the menu! Still has the touch of the coffee shop I've come to love and still has awesome coffee. Love supporting not only a local shop, but also a great cause.

Stumbled across this coffee shop by accident but im so glad I did. The coffee itself was amazing i got a caramel latte w almond milk and my friend got the specialty latte also very good! I had a nice chat with one of the people running the place and being from the east coast they warned me about the tornado warnings in the direction we were headed. The shop strives to hire special needs individuals which is awesome! Wish i lived in town but i will be going back if im in OKC (and of course had to buy a shirt)

Absolutely recommend for anyone in the OKC area looking for coffee or a quick snack. It caught my eye on Yelp!! because I'm a huge Harry Potter-head and there are HP-themed drinks on the menu. We were just planning on getting drinks, but then the food sounded really good too. So I got a Drink That Must Not Be Named and a chorizo breakfast burrito, and the boy toy got a matcha latte and a breakfast burrito, then a blueberry muffin to go. It was all DELISH! Even if the food had turned out to be just so-so, I think I'd still give 5 stars on atmosphere alone. When we got there, the owner met us at the door and basically gave us a super warm info-mercial welcome telling us all about the shop and employees (they hire people with disabilities, and they were the sweetest and coolest employees ever). The little shop is super cute, with local art on the walls and a little gift shop full of locally made stuff (like soap, lotions, pickles, dog treats), bags of coffee, and shirts promoting people with disabilities and the shop. If you're a coffee drinker, I def recommend stopping in at Not Your Average Joe's if you're in the OKC area!

Love this coffee shop. They also have food but I didn't try any I just got a sugar free vanilla latte. It was awesome. Very friendly staff, I love that they hire handicapped people. Such a special cafe.

I debated leaving a bad review because of its mission. But as they say on Shark Tank, you're either a business or a nonprofit. You can't be both. The service is quite slow. I went to the downtown location on a Saturday and there were about 8 people standing around, waiting on their order. This is obviously concerning given the current global pandemic. I was going to get a latte, but I didn't want to wait in such a crowded space. I ended up getting a black coffee to go and it was mediocre. I bought some beans to grind at home and the coffee has been weak. The first time I ground them and made the coffee, it looked like tea. I had to use twice the amount of coffee to get something dark. I'm guessing the beans were old so they weren't as fresh. If you have the time to wait and want to go support this cause, then please do. But don't expect it to become your next go-to local coffee shop.

An unassuming coffee shop in a street of brunch places. My latte was smooth and they have quite a few milk options for folks. My chorizo burrito is better than the average fast breakfast taco, it came with chips and salsa and was huge, filled with egg and sausage and bell pepper. They also have various local, regional and other small business products located in their cafe.

Great mission of inclusion. Friendly owner. Pretty good coffee. Otherwise, be prepared for long wait times, especially if you order food--which is not worth it. A word of caution if you order one of the specials--double check to make sure you are charged the advertised price. On two different occasions, when I ordered a half-price Frappuccino on Friday, I was charged full price. It's not worth it.

NORMAN location is great! Final (and BEST) stop on the coffee caffeine crawl. Had the Horchata Latte, scones, pour-over, & Sherpa Chai. Great staff and amazing acceptional people!

Cute little place. Reminds me of place seen on TV such as Gilmore Girls. Took some family members here to get warm drinks on a Saturday, while waiting on our table at another restaurant. The horachata coffee was tasty. My sister had a lavender tea latte. Only two cups sizes, small or large. They offer a lot of milk options for those who are lactose intolerant or prefer other milk choices. Check it out if you're nearby.

Delicious food, fantastic drinks, cosy place, great location, cool and amazing people, and relaxing atmosphere. One of the best of its own kind in the world. I strongly recommend it.

Their coffee superb. They have some wonderful pastries but they are a bit pricey and a little small. The cinnamon roll cake is heavenly but again, you get a small piece for $4.50.
