I’ve been coming to Sarku Japan at Penn Square Mall since I moved to Oklahoma back in 2015 — and it’s still one of my favorite food spots in the entire OKC area! 🍗

Their chicken teriyaki plate with white rice, vegetables, and extra sauce is unbeatable. The flavor is rich, the portions are generous, and the quality is super consistent every time. It instantly reminded me of the variety of food I enjoyed living in Los Angeles — which was hard to find here back then, especially beyond fast food or Tex-Mex.

Even though Penn Square Mall has expanded and now offers more food choices, Sarku Japan still stands out as my #1. They also serve beef and shrimp options, and you can customize with noodles or fried rice (small upcharge but worth it!).

Honestly, my only complaint? I wish they had more locations throughout the OKC metro! If I had the capital, I’d open a spot myself. It’s that good. 💯

When I went one month ago, the food was good, which is why I came back. Today was only my second time eating there. When I went today instantly the taste was not flavorful, the rice was overcooked, and the oil was old and I know because I woke up with heartburn and couldn't get back to sleep for hours. This is something that usually happens to me wherever I eat and the restaurant uses old oil. I will not eat here again. Also vegetables were supposed to come with the entree however one or two pieces of broccoli was in the container for all the money that I paid.

Sunday May 18th 12 pm hour. Nasty Smooshy white rice served with my chicken teriyaki plate. Don't serve customers that. Make a new batch.

Got the teriyaki chicken and fried rice with an order of chicken pot stickers here on Monday April 28th. It was delicious and about the same price as Whataburger at around 18 bucks. So not bad. Will definitely come back if I'm at Penn Square for lunch or dinner!

I placed an order for teriyaki chicken with fried rice. The rice arrived clumped, inconsistent with the description of fried rice, and lacked flavor. I want my $11 back

Was given the wrong order. Once the order was corrected the chicken was very cold and staff was unfriendly. Never had this complaint before because it's one of my favorite food places to eat even when not shopping. This new staff isn't as polite as the previous. The new line system is a disaster.

There's usually a line since it's at the mall. But I love the chicken/shrimp fried rice plate and i add noodles. Definitely recommend. The employees/cooks could have a more friendly attitude.

This place has been consistent for years, excellent food! Love the chicken teriyaki. I definitely recommend it! Go during lunch or dinner when it's busy, better chance at fresh!

The last time I visited the shrimp wasn't good, must have been sitting out too long or gone bad. Y'all plz be careful to not let seafood go bad. You cannot cook spoil away. That only happened one time, no other times just fyi.

This food court restaurant is fantastic. The food is made to order, the food is hot and fresh. Downside? It's made to order. This means during busy periods the food can take some time from order to sit down. Here is the main take away: portions, quality, fresh is all better than the competitor just two spots away. The wait time is not for those in a rush.

Ordered a side and it's on receipt but they claimed they mixed it into the food. Who was for my friend w me. So I never recieved my food or refund. Stole from me

ROACHES!!!! Do not eat here.. and if they have roaches it’s a chance ALL of the resturants in the food court have roaches too.. yuck
