When I walked into Starbucks it was filled with over 20-30 people. I stood in front of the pastry display trying to decide what I was going to purchase. Out of nowhere the police officer moved from his post by the door to stand directly behind me. I turned to look directly at him because he was positioned at an uncomfortable distance that violated my personal space. I immediately brought this to the attention of the white, male cashier and he simply stated that "he does that to everyone." I replied that its rude to be the only African American person in the room racially profiled and addressed like a criminal. I didn't appreciate being watched or stood over. The fact that the cashier didn't respond sympathetic to my discomfort confirmed that he too was discrimatory and bias towards me as well. I have a Master and a Bachelors degree with a GPA of 3.8. I am no criminal and I didn't appreciate being treated like one. I will be reporting this to the Corporate Office. Everyone should have the same treatment and experience. No one should be treated differently. I have been to this Starsbucks before and there has never been a police officer and I have never been mistreated until today. I hope this will not become a reoccuring pattern.

Male employee clearly wants to make everyone as miserable as he is. Highly inefficient and unobservant. Significant eye rolls used when something didn't happen the way he had planned.If you encounter this "barista", recommend avoid. Stick to the others and enjoy your day.
