Most convenient place for lunch when you just want something homecooked and southern. So appreciate this place and that they have soup and chili, affordable and good quality. People are so nice and know people by names. Just a really nice humble place to grab a bite to eat while at work. I always love their roast, and chicken pot pies. I will say I am not a fan of the mashed potatoes. They taste like the boxed kind. Outside of that I have not disliked a thing.
Good comfort food. Decent flavor for a decent price. Counter serve, but they are quick. They’ll have your blue plate special ready by the time you fill your drink.
Bathroom is through the washroom and down the stairs in the basement. Interesting experience. Doesn’t detract from the value. It adds to the character.

I go here once or twice a month for their Blue Plate Special. They are always so friendly, quick on getting your food to you, just over all great places to go on your lunch hour when downtown.
