We had a terrible experience with Amanda, the owner of The Eleanor. We made/paid for reservations for my daughter’s bridal shower back in May 2023. Despite having made reservations well in advance, we were completely ghosted by Amanda the week leading up to the event. To make matters worse, we received autogenerated emails the week of the event asking us to confirm our reservation, which we did, only to be completely ignored. We left multiple texts, emails, and voicemails, asking for confirmation our event would happen. But was left scrambling to find alternative venue at the last minute.This lack of professionalism, communication and follow-through is completely unacceptable, especially for such an important event.On the bright side, we were lucky enough to find another venue, The Bradford House, that went above and beyond to accommodate us.I would strongly advise anyone considering The Eleanor to think twice before booking an event or even dining there. (Doesn’t even deserve 1 star)

Came here for my friend’s bachelorette party and no one was there. Doors locked, lights off and a sign that said closed for a private event. Several of us called & messaged wherever we could but no answer. My friend (the bride to be) said she booked this months before and already paid for the event when the reviews were still all positive so we didn’t see the recent reviews. So I’m here to confirm that all the recent reviews are true! If they are still messaging you about an event as of late then they will scam you and not answer your calls. Do not book with this place!

If I could give them zeros stars I would. I planned my Bachelorette Party to be hosted here, paid for the reservation and for food accommodations. I received MULTIPLE confirmation emails and messages leading up to the reservation date. When we arrived the doors were locked, lights off and no one in sight. I called multiple times, left messages, sent an email and tried to contact them through their Instagram and NOTHING. They ruined the beginning of the night for me and my friends. We were luckily able to figure something out. This place is HORRIBLE. I have yet to hear from them. DO NOT COME TO THE ELEANOR, they are scammers. Awful business.

I don't usually bash establishments on the internet but this place deserves it. My granddaughter's wedding shower was scheduled this morning at 10:00 a.m. She got a confirmation text this morning. We showed up along with 30+ guests and the building was locked up and no one was there. Tried to call, text email, no answer. We were all just standing in the parking lot. One of our guests knows the owner of The Bradford House and called him and fortunately, they said come on over. They had everything set up, food was great, venue was great and they did it all in 30 minutes. The so called owner of The Eleanor finally texted and said she was on the way to the lake and would call her manager and call back. NEVER DID This was a huge important event and would have just been a complete wash out if not for the Bradford House. DON'T EVER USE THE ELEANOR FOR ANYTHING. They are terrible and this is inexcusable. If there was some problem, they should have called and told us, not sent a confirmation text like everything was OK. Unbelievable.

Update: 2 and a half almost 3 weeks later, they still are ignoring my texts and calls when asking when I should expect to see a refund. After threatening a lawyer, I finally received it. I genuinely don’t understand how they are still open if this is how they operate.A few months ago, I booked the Eleanor for my bridal shower. I emailed back and forth with them confirming all the details. So the morning of the shower, we go to set up for my event. The door is locked and it has a sign that says “closed due to plumbing issue.” I texted the Eleanor and called multiple times, as people were starting to show up. They wouldn’t respond to me, but when my maid of honor called, they immediately texting her explaining that they were closed today due to a broken pipe. They were flat out ignoring me, just like I’ve seen other people state in reviews! How unprofessional. After about a hour of stress, I finally got a response. They tried to blame it on me and say that they did not contact me about the burst pipe and their closing because I “cancelled on the 22nd”… what??!! I also received a reminder text from the Eleanor the day before my event, confirming that my event was still on. If I “cancelled on the 22nd,” why am I still getting a reminder on the 28th? When asking when my refund was started, they responded with “we started the refund processes for this weekends parties yesterday.” So if I “cancelled on the 22nd” why would you start my refund a week later after this bursted pipe incident and never contact me about cancelling/refunding, etc. ? I really wanted to like this place and genuinely was excited for my shower here, but I’m still just appalled by this. All of my guests were as well. The way the Eleanor responded to this entire situation just shows they don’t genuinely care about their customers.Whoever was messaging me, whether that be the manager or owner, deliberately ignored me many times. Truly so unprofessional. Thankfully a different amazing business was able to accommodate us short notice. Overall, i do not recommend this place at all and none of us will be back. I will never spend another dime here.
