According to the TEXT they sent their employees to let them know they didn't have a job any longer: "We have made the difficult business decision to close the business and pursue other opportunities."

This was an awesome BBQ place! Lots of variety of meats as well as sides. The Chef's Sampler is a great way to try a little of most of the things on the menu. I highly recommend the brisket & the ribs but they are messier... Jayce our waiter was great, checked on us often & made sure we had a great time.

Being as this is a new establishment I'm going to try this place another time in hopes they make improvements over time. The food is lack luster except the salmon patties are fricken amazing imo. Not like momma made me but pretty good. The prices are expensive for my taste in comparison to the food quality. They charge per pound which I don't agree with but I understand why they do it. They do have a drink menu but the drinks aren't anything I would drink so I can't really comment on those

Our service was out of this world! The server and staff were very attentive and friendly! The only reason this is 4 stars is the some of our food was slightly disappointing I had the chopped brisket and it was sub par along with the cornbread. The pulled pork and ribs were delicious.

Smoked salmon was amazing. Cool remodel from the previous space, great cocktails and drinks too. Great sides as well. Kids love it also, so good for the whole fam.

One of my new favorites!!! I love the open dining area. We started with the Smoked Korean BBQ wings and the Jalapeno-Cheddar Cornbread and beer and THAT ALONE was amazing!!! I had the pork belly sliders which were to die for and my husband had the pulled pork and mac and cheese... also out of this world!!! I can't wait to come back and try the ribs!!! If you go in, you should ask for Jayce to serve you!! He checks all the boxes for customer service and was extremely helpful!!! You are missing out if you haven't tried this place yet!!!!

After driving by The Smoking Boar (which if you live in the area by Britton and May, you know this location has been a bit of this, and a bit of that for many years, with no one concept taking hold), and seeing an article in the OKC Gazzette, and my husband mentioning the place... I figured with all those signs, we should definitely try the Smoking Boar. I'll try not to bury the lead, so, Food is four stars, Service is 5 solid... maybe even a 5.5, Libations 4.5, Location 4.5 stars (Construction on Britton Rd), which fingers crossed should clear, Parking 5, a big lot with lots of spaces, Ambiance 5.5. The Smoking Boar is a solid restaurant out of the gate and if it keeps up the pace, it should be a neighborhood favorite and dining destination in no time. The breakdown. Food. I had the pulled pork sandwich, and potato salad. The hubby had the Full Boar, and the baby (who was rather picky that day had both the grilled cheese and the mac'n cheese, with potato/fries. I had the white sangria. Portions were huge, sauces optional and presentation on sheet trays lined with butcher paper, pretty damn cute. The flavor was on par with South Texas BBQ. The pork, both my husband and I agreed was just a touch dry. Pork is notoriously difficult to grill... and cook in general. You are only a few degrees and moments away from juicy turning into dry. The sauce brought up the moisture, and overall the sandwich was very nice. The bun and slaw topping very welcome. The hubby was happy with the Full Boar; again pork was a tad dry, but the sausage was packed with spice. Now on to the finicky eater. I swear she said she wanted the mac'n cheese, but then she changed her mind. So, we ate it. The curly noodle was enveloped in a smokey cheese sauce. The hubby and I had dueling fork battles... I ended up taking this home and eating it without telling anyone. She then had the grilled cheese and ate some of the fried potatoes. These were really yummy. Spicy and crispy with a creamy center. We also had a side of potato salad. It is a bit different here. More mayo than mustard, and the crunch of the scallion was a nice twist. Highly recommend. Drew was our server. She was helpful, and attentive and made our late Sunday lunch very enjoyable. The Ambiance reminds me of the BBQ places down in Texas. Open, and lots of wood seating; Edison Bulbs hang from the ceiling, and smoke fills the air. The main area is open, and the bar is off center, with a nice amount of seating. As mentioned above, this place is off to a great start, and I cannot wait to see how they become part of the area.

Amazing place, amazing service, amazing food, and a great atmosphere! What more could you ask for!? We ordered the 7oz smoked salmon, 1/2 chopped brisket, ranch style beans, and fries. Everything was cooked to perfection and super delicious.

Oh Smoking Boar. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. 1) Love this wine list. Lots of winners on here, and lots of things by the glass that you don't often find around here, like Blackbird. That right there will keep me coming in the door. 2) The way the menu is set up and laid out is wonderful. I love that you can clearly see the types of meats and sides available, as well as all the different sizes. We want a big okra and a big mac and cheese, but we want a small slaw. You can do all these things here, and it helps you have a much better idea of how much you're ordering. 3) The food. Absolutely fantastic. I love everything we've had so far, which to date includes brisket, chicken, jalapeno-cheddar cornbread, the wedge salad, okra, mac and cheese and coleslaw. Everything was perfect. The brisket was delicious and so flavorful, the chicken was some of the best I've ever had. The sides were all outstanding, and I had to force myself to stop there with my order. There are so many other things I can't wait to try, like the salmon, deviled eggs, pork belly collards and so much more. It is so fun to see a menu with SO MANY wonderful options, so much wide-ranging variety, all around the same theme that was in need of this level of reboot. 4) The setting and the service is wonderful. Want to play at the lake, and eat nearby but not necessarily at any of the actual lakeside options? It's so close, so convenient, and plenty of room. My little family was loud and messy, but we didn't feel weird or out of place. I needed a few modifications for my kids and they were so accommodating. We felt taken care of but never like we were being rushed or hovered over. I could see this going national. I see a lot of new local restaurants crop up, but I think if I had to pick one to say that's a great candidate for nationwide appeal and growth, I'd put my money on the boar.

Came here one evening hoping for some REALLY good BBQ. Some meaty and satisfying. Everything on the menu looked awesome. We ordered ribs, brisket, brussel sprouts, mac n cheese, fries, and a wedge salad. Eh okay. My favorite thing was the wedge salad. I never realized how good a wedge salad is. Meat was eh and sides were underwhelming. I was hoping for something more. Sauce was so-so. I feel sauces can make or break the BBQ dish. Decoration is SUPER cute, ambience a little noisy, presentation is great, and service is awesome.

The food is pretty good. I'm not generally a big fan of barbecue but I really enjoyed this place. The potato salad is a definite win. The waitstaff is polite and the restaurant seemed clean. I would have given four stars, but my husband and I have ordered takeout here twice, both times ordering the potato salad because we love it so much. We only ordered out a second time because we thought there must have been a mistake. The size of their “large” size sides are appalling. Truly, actual robbery. It's supposed to serve up to six and serves one (for $10)! I could go on about this for a long time, but I won't. My advice is to eat in if you go here. Don't order takeout. You will not get what you pay for.

So happy to have this new spot close to me! I love what they did to revamp the space inside, it's intimate enough for a date night, also has great big tables for groups and an awesome bar! Maddie was a great server and extremely knowledgeable with the menu and suggestions. There were so many things we wanted to try so Maddie suggested the Chef's sampler which was awesome! It had the smoked deviled eggs, smoked salmon, house made pickles, whole fried okra, corn bread and the pork rinds. Great if you want to try a bunch of things! For our meal I ordered a half a wedge salad, 1/4 lb brisket, 1/4 pulled pork and 1/4 smoked turkey. We loved it all, the turkey might have been my fav! Four sides we got mac & cheese and ranch style beans. Both were very flavorful! I'm not sure I would order the beans again as the pieces of bacon and brisket ratio to bean was very off, it was almost like a chili with a few beans. Still tasty but with the other smoked meats we ordered this was little too much meat for us, I wish the beans could shine on their own. The Mac was super creamy and tasty but I think it doesn't need the brisket on top either! I can't wait to go back and try many more things!

These ribs are amazing! Tender and juicy and flavorful without any sauce. Same for the sliced brisket-- they've got some great bbq masters in the kitchen! We were in the mood to try a bunch, so we ordered the cornbread muffins (nice flavor by dry--had to use the delicious honey butter to soften them up), ribs, brisket, hotlink (good spicy), pulled pork (also super tender), mac'n'cheese (wonderfully creamy but lacking flavor--I added a good bit of pepper), pork belly collard greens (quite salty but good texture), and potato salad (mayo and herb based). I also chose a blood orange mimosa that was fine, but in my humble opinion not worth the price. All in all, we'd come back here for the meats! Hands down going to be my suggestion if craving ribs or a brisket sandwich. The ATMOSPHERE IS AWESOME as well! Great bar, super clean, and tons to look at with the informative art on the back wall. I'd recommend this spot for entertaining out-of-towners especially as a causal yet professional lunch or dinner.

Stopped in on a whim, glad we did! Met the owner, very friendly, brought us drinks ordered at the bar while waiting. Ordered the smoked deviled eggs as appetizer. They were of the hook!! Wedge salad was good too. Got the ribs and chicken. Both had excellent flavor, and not too dry. We will definitely be coming back for the deviled eggs and explore more of the menu!

Made from scratch kitchen, delicious blend of flavors and pecan smoke. The smoked meat and fish are balanced with spice and served very fresh. Great bar with amazing whiskey/bourbon selections, craft beers and cocktails. The Happy hour and Sunday brunch are my personal favorites. It's delicious!
