Do not eat at El Pueblo in Pauls Valley, OK.This is a poor excuse for a business in every way: food, service, and atmosphere. It took over five minutes for someone to come to our table to take our drink order. We got only water and asked for a large queso. The queso resembled nothing more than a sad, congealed mess of cheap, melted cheese, microwaved to an unappetizing sludge-like consistency. And don't even get me started on the sorry excuse for salty chips that accompanied it.Upon getting our check, we discovered it was $13.95 for water and queso! When we asked about two additional 3.00 fees, we were told it was a “setup” fee. We asked if this was written anywhere, and they said it’s on the menu.Well, we did already read this. It reads: “If you do not wish to order from your menu, you can enjoy our setup of chips & salsa for $3.00.”People, tell me how this makes sense! We DID order from the menu, we ordered queso from the menu! It does not read that you must order a MEAL from the menu. This is poorly written on their part. So, they are telling me that if I just ordered queso it wouldn’t have come with chips? I would have told them I didn’t want the salsa if they didn’t bring it out first thing when they came to take my drink order. Then, we were told there was a fee to use a credit card at this establishment. It is 2024. The price of doing business includes your business paying credit card fees, not passing them onto the consumer. That said, do not eat here. The food is subpar. The service is severely lacking. You will be nickel and dimed to death by the time you are out the door for an experience you wish you never had.If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

The service was good and prompt. Food was hot and fresh and served quickly after ordering. At the time we visited it was very quiet and only a couple other customers. Lunch menu served until 4p.

Honestly really bland. Rice and beans were ok. Cheese enchilada had no flavors. Hard taco was pretty good and the tamale had a little flavor.Cheese dip tasted like it came from a jar. Some of the worst I've had.Salsa was good tho.

Not sure how they are now but they were the best Mexican food in town. We were so sad that they are closed for vacation while we are here.

The staff was nice but the food was so bland. They charge way too much for food that has no flavor. They charged me $5 for drinks and $5 for queso that's free at any other Mexican restraunt you go to. This is by far the worst Mexican food I have EVER
Pretty decent food, guacamole was pretty bland. Flautas were pretty good.

Store was nothing like the one in Paul's valley OK which absolutely has no business opening doors. Much more pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. One in Paul's valley has been selling alcohol to minors and it's recently being fined by

Been here a few times. The food is fantastic! Unfortunately, can't say that about the waitresses. Food is ALWAYS better than the service. Not sure why...Wait staff may need more training. Rudeness ruins the dining experience. I suggest getting Take Out.
