Cool store!
Okay, now—I usually expect stories of the Wild, Wild West to come from the West, not from the south-central part of the United States. But here we are, deep in southern Oklahoma, and let me tell you… Cowboy’s Country Store? It’s a wild one. In some ways, delightfully so. In others—well, a bit confusing. But overall, it’s definitely an experience.
This place calls itself a convenience store. Inconvenient, yes—but oddly enough, in a way that’s... sort of okay? It’s like the store is trying to be everything for everybody and ends up doing a little bit of everything, just not particularly well. So let’s try to make sense of it.
Cowboy’s is part convenience store, part hardware store, part auto parts shop, part restaurant, part furniture store. It also claims to offer Mexican food, a storage facility, a car wash, lumber, and even hosts auctions, annnnd a Gun Shop; ye you heard right, they sell guns too. It almost feels like Walmart. Yes, all in one place. You could easily lose track of whether you're buying motor oil or bidding on a rocking chair.
As I walked through and tried to check out each department, I noticed a trend. You’ll find the basics—just the basics—in each area. Need a specific car part or a certain size of tire? You’ll likely be out of luck. Same story in the furniture section. It’s like they stock one of everything, just enough to say they have it, but not enough to be of real use if you’re in serious need.
The car wash? Let’s just say it’s as basic as it gets—a hose, a sprayer, and some soap. It might meet the local needs, but it’s not going to knock your boots off. Honestly, stores like this would benefit from focusing on just three or four things and doing them really well. That way, visitors walk away with more than just a sense of novelty—they leave impressed.
Now, about that restaurant. Since I was already there, I figured I’d check the restroom situation. Unfortunately, it was a letdown. For a place of that size, having just one toilet and one urinal doesn’t cut it—and to make matters worse, they weren’t in great condition. Cleanliness and upkeep seemed to be an afterthought.
I made my way to the deli, which offered the usual fare you’d expect from a typical gas station. But what caught my attention—and concern—was the temperature of the food. It was noticeably low. When you’re dealing with meats and hot items, keeping things at the proper temperature is not just a matter of taste—it’s a matter of safety. That’s not just a review comment; that’s a potential conversation with a lawyer waiting to happen.
That said, I did enjoy the feel of being in a country store. There’s something charming about the concept—maybe it’s just the execution that’s missing the mark. It’s a cute stop if you’re looking for gas and a few odds and ends, but I wouldn’t count on it for anything substantial.

This is my first time here and the reason that I decided to stop here to eat is due to how many vehicles I usually see parked in front so here we go. You're greeted when you enter, they have a lot of room and sell a large assortment of items to purchase. Great food.

My husband just left this store and said you can easily spend an hour. Like a mini Walmart, but with good fresh cooked food!
