Barbeque Restaurants near Purcell

“You wouldn't expect such good BBQ from a gas station / convenience store but it is AMAZING. Good smoke ring through the meat- flavorful, & BIG portions. I can barely get through a half-order of loaded fries, let alone a full order. BBQ sauce (mild) is sweet & savorful. Their southwest ranch is a must on the huge loaded baked potato. I could drink that stuff by the gallon- Amazing food for an Amazing price-“

“Do not be swayed by the name, they have more than pork! I have no idea why I didn't know that until now. I've driven by one location or another many times, but truly thought it was highly pork forward. Criminey.

Anyway, I had the smoked chicken with coleslaw and mac & cheese. Sweets had a pulled pork sandwich, BBQ beans, and fried okra. Mine was great with Carolina sauce (vinegar based). The mac and cheese was fine, but not worth filling up on. The potato salad has egg... such an absolute bummer. But, the smoked chicken was excellent. Sweets knew it was more than pig, and, apparently, what to expect. So, he felt it was consistent with his expectations.

Why lower stars? We were there on Sunday at 2:30. There were dirty dishes and partially eaten food gathered near the drinks, pickles, and silverware... just grossed me out. I will not complain more than pointing them out because I raise beef and understand the extreme expenses.“

“Saturday, Oct 19th
Our Sooner Thunderbird Car Club met here for our monthly meeting. It was my first visit here. I got the Chopped brisket sandwich and a side of okra with a drink. There was SO MUCH meat I had to eat it with a fork and had half to take home! Super generous portions!
Okra was delish! I was a bit jealous of a couple's half rack of ribs, they looked amazing and they raved about the pulled pork.
Only negative thing is it's nearly an hour from my home in Edmond! YOU REALLY NEED TO BRING A SMOKIN JOE'S TO EDMOND or North OKC! ?
