“Love the new manager Brittany ! And don’t get me started on the fried garlic butter cheese curds. I would probably go get some every day, if we live here.“

“Neon hummin’, smell of fried somethin’ in the air, and that warm glow of folks just tryin’ to have a good time. Now I ain’t the type to turn my nose up at a chain joint—nah, sometimes the soul’s in the simple stuff. So I sat myself down, ordered the Surf and Turf Saturday, and let the evening come to me. Steak came out hot—nice little sear on it, like it knew it had a job to do. Wasn’t prime rib from a rooftop joint in Austin, but it had heart and really enjoyed the people working that day. Shrimp were crisp, golden, made me feel like I was sittin’ on the Gulf of America with a cold one in hand, not next to a parking lot in Oklahoma. Now the fish… yeah, it tasted a little fishy. First bite had me squintin’, wonderin’ if I’d made a poor life choice. But then I thought—maybe that’s just me. Maybe I’m carryin’ the fishiness. Life’s like that sometimes—you bring your own baggage to the plate. Sides were classic—cole slaw, loaded baked potatoe like a warm memory, green beans that didn’t try too hard, and a roll that soaked it all up like it knew what it was doin’. Salad bar still standin’ tall, like an old friend with a bowl full of bacon bits, croutons and the best Ranch in Henreyetta. At times it can get a lil loud, a little chaotic, kids runnin’ around like it’s recess, but that’s life and we all remember our first trip to the magical place that is Shoneys. seeing that smiling bear, That’s real. And in a world tryin’ too hard to be fancy, Shoney’s is just sittin’ just as it did in the 1990s. So yeah—I’ll be back.... next Saturday save me my favorite table. I got 5 on the juke box. Hot Rod“
