The Lunchbox is a great place to escape from work and catch-up with friends. The food is flavorful, high quality, and the perfect lunch portions.

I was off work running errands and wanted to break for lunch. I went by a couple places I have been wanting to try but they were closed. That's when I spotted The Lunch Box. I really hope this place does well because the lunch was fabulous. The restaurant is clean and the staff friendly. I had the grilled ham & Swiss with a cup of spicy tomato soup. The soup wasn't spicy by my standards, but went superbly with the sandwich. I am looking forward to coming back soon to try something different.

I received my sandwich order wrong twice. They were nice and apologetic and remade the sandwich. By the time the food came the second time the rest of my party was done eating and it was still incorrect. I ended up throwing the second sandwich in the trash and leaving. Everyone else said it was good, but my experience was disappointed.

This place consistently makes amazing food! If you haven’t eaten here you must! I’ve tried several dishes on the menu and they are ALL incredible.
I had the veggie and my husband had the cranberry turkey. Both sandwiches we excellent, fresh ingredients full of flavor. Prices were very reasonable. Will definitely order again.

The Lunch Box in Shawnee has amazing sandwiches! I had the turkey cranberry sandwich, husband had the basic turkey sandwich. They were both remarkably delicious - warm, thick, juicy slices off a roasted turkey breast. Turkey cranberry had turkey slice, cranberry sauce and cream cheese on a warm croissant, and the basic turkey sandwich had turkey slice, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo and red onion on toasted hearty white bread. Both served with a bag of potato chips and a pickle spear. Cute little diner atmosphere with electric furnishings, a different set of salt and pepper shakers on each table, everything was clean. The staff was quietly friendly and efficient. I recommend highly. We were on our way east on I-40 and took the short and pleasant drive into Shawnee looking for a good sandwich. We hit the jackpot!

The food is good. My favorite is the meatloaf. I had the meatloaf sandwich on 2 separate days. The first time I had it, it was about 45 minutes before their closing time, and I had it to go. When the waitress put my order in, the lady preparing the sandwich said - REALLY? This sandwich (2nd last photo), compared to the next time I bought it (last photo) were a far cry. The meatloaf, while both were delicious, were very different in size.The place has very good acoustics, so it is very echo-y and noisy.Overall, I still love the food and the ladies, and will go back weekly.

Nestled in Old Downtown in Shawnee you will find a throwback lunch cafe serving up great sandwiches, loaded spuds, soups, salads, and daily specials...oh, and the Dessert First counter...at The Lunch Box .I had the Southwest Turkey Club, a nicely portioned sandwich filled with turkey breast, bacon, provolone cheese, avocado, red onions, chipotle ranch and served on a ciabatta roll. It was very tasty, the chicken was moist, and while I'm not a big avocado fan, it really complemented the sandwich. Served with a dill pickle spear and of course, Lay's potato chips, it was a great lunch sandwich.But what about dessert? Glad you asked. I was forced to take (ok, I walked past the Dessert First counter and was inexplicably drawn to) a HUGE Hello Dolly bar (aka Magic Cookies or Magic Bars by some folks). Great graham crust, moist and delicious gooey chocolatey filling with a nicely toasted (yeah one corner was a little dark, but that's the way I like it) coconut topping. There's a reason why the dessert counter was almost bare...these things are delicious. With several other offerings, from lemon bars to no bake cookies, there's something for everyone, so save room for dessert.It's a smaller location, with old-school charm and decor. A great place for one, or a even a larger group. The service was quick, and the food was lovingly prepared by the Lunch Ladies...so you know it's good!And eat Dessert First! It's Slim Whitman approved.

Had TLB for lunch yesterday, delicious as always. The cheesecake brownie was a little too sweet, but nonetheless good. I also had the BLT on sourdough. The lemonade is to die for, make sure you don’t pass it up. Friendly staff and great music too :)
