We haven't been to Shawnee for a number of years. Tonight we stopped by for a long overdue repeat visit to an old favorite. We had a very helpful and cheerful server. We enjoyed the ribs, a hot link, and pulled pork. All were well prepared and complimented by several BBQ sauces. For sides we had slaw, green beans, and some of the best fries I've ever ordered. They had a small pickle bar with some good bread n butter pickles and a very good relish. We had a good dinner and a good experience. Hope to return some day.

Sorry, I ate at your restaurant actually. I was here on business. I’m from N. Carolina. While I understand this can be a tough business, some amount of pride should be placed in the product you are selling. You as an owner have a responsibility to your customers and employees. I didn’t see either. My partners and I buy and fix restaurants like yours every day. Your grandfather would be ashamed.

Ordered take away at 5pm yesterday. Had 2 combo meat dinner along with a full rib dinner. The vanized potatoes were for sure old, the ribs and the chicken was much like jerky. Wondered if they new owners, the seasoning on the smoked meats tastes different and it was in the over baked Mac and cheese. 80 dollar mistake. 1 star for the bag of frozen okra, it was crispy and hot.

Spent over $100 for 2 lbs of meat and 3 sides for pick up. Sliced brisket was dry, ribs were overcooked and dry. Asked for sauce, didn't get any. Potato salad was slimy with way too much mayo. Beans were too tomato based, just not very good. Didn't try the Cole slaw, but didn't look very appetizing. Pretty disappointed overall. Shawnee, Ok needs a good BBQ restaurant, because Van's ain't it! Won't return again!!!

I really enjoyed my meal. I think these were the best ribs I've ever tasted. The rub combines with the smoke to make something really amazing. Don't use much barbecue sauce or you will cover up all that greatness! (I say that even though they have great sauces.) Staff was friendly too. Coleslaw was great; beans a bit above average for a Southern BBQ joint but nothing spectacular. Strongly recommend.

I ordered chopped brisket and it was all dried out. When I took it back to the counter, they gladly gave me sliced and it was good. The “salad” should be taken off the menu. Browning iceberg lettuce and tomato slices. Chili was advertised , but were told they were out. In addition, the area by the entry was filthy.
