I really enjoyed my meal. I think these were the best ribs I've ever tasted. The rub combines with the smoke to make something really amazing. Don't use much barbecue sauce or you will cover up all that greatness! (I say that even though they have great sauces.) Staff was friendly too. Coleslaw was great; beans a bit above average for a Southern BBQ joint but nothing spectacular. Strongly recommend.
Stopped by here for lunch, first time at a Van's. Got a chopped brisket sandwich with the BBQ beans. I gotta say, the BBQ beans were mid, but the flavor and texture of the sandwich were on point. Hit the spot, especially with the sweet and smokey sauce. However, the sandwich was probably the greasiest sandwich I'd ever had, it was dripping with melted fat. Didn't bother me too much but fair warning.

We haven't been to Shawnee for a number of years. Tonight we stopped by for a long overdue repeat visit to an old favorite. We had a very helpful and cheerful server. We enjoyed the ribs, a hot link, and pulled pork. All were well prepared and complimented by several BBQ sauces. For sides we had slaw, green beans, and some of the best fries I've ever ordered.
