Taylor's Dining Room provides a unique dining experience with a diverse, internationally-inspired menu. The staff is friendly and composed of college students from OSU's hospitality school, gaining credit through their work. The restaurant features a buffet style, allowing guests to eat as much as they like of their favorite dishes. Some meals, like the Cuban cuisine and rolls, have been praised, while others such as mac and cheese, catfish, and chocolate cake have received mixed reviews. The peach mocktail and certain soups have been well received. Visitors often enjoy trying new dishes and supporting students in their culinary education.

Parking can be a challenge, so arriving about 20 minutes early and parking at the Atherton parking garage is recommended. The walk across campus takes about 10 minutes but can be part of the enjoyable experience. Despite occasional issues with the system for generating checks and processing credit cards, which can cause delays, most guests find the food consistently excellent. Service on the buffet has sometimes been affected by staff flow, especially when a customer takes extra time, but the overall experience remains positive for many repeat visitors.
