“Whether you are headed east or west on the Turner turnpike, here is the Mexican food break you need to take. It is located on the north side of the pike, approximately mid-way at the Stroud exit, in what used to be the Ranch House Restaurant, part of the Cattle Country Lodge. It is easy to access from the turnpike. The interior is large and pleasantly decorated to match the theme “ranch house” and “cattle country.” El Tapatio adds a Mexican spin to the furnishings with the typical carved back chairs. Each chair back painted with bright colorful Mexican scenes and the restaurant’s name, so you will remember where you were in that drunken birthday picture posted on Facebook. And there are a few sombreros hanging on the wall here and there. Overall, a very nice large clean restaurant. El Tapatio is in no way like the small town dumpy Mexican restaurants, that I frequent.The food is excellent, as is the friendly attentive service. Big Menu!Great chips and salsas start the meal. For me the Fajita Jalisco: beef steak strips, chicken and shrimp cooked with onions bell peppers and tomatoes served with Pico de Gallo, guacamole beans and rice. Delicious and fresh with a perfect side of creamy smooth refried beans.My wife had the Burrito Ranchero. A large pork filled flour tortilla, covered in red, green, and queso sauces. Rice and beans on the side. The pork in the burrito was wonderful tender shredded pork. Some of the pieces of pork had a delicious crisp finish; think carnitas. Both meals flavorfully seasoned. Nothing bland. Both of these meals are highly recommended.This was a big surprise for me to find such a quality Mexican restaurant in small town Oklahoma.If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" by Spike S. on Yelp. “The staff was friendly and took my order immediately. I ordered the large rib dinner with coleslaw and brisket beans. It came with Texas toast. The coleslaw was delicious. It had a great creamy taste, but was still crunchy, not soggy like some. If you like a more vinegar tasting slaw, this isn’t for you. The brisket beans had quite a bit of meat in them, but I like a sweeter sauce in the beans. This was more tangy, maybe. That’s just a personal preference, nothing wrong with them. I still ate them. Now the ribs. I picked up the first one, and the bone fell right out! They had great flavor and were seasoned well! I ate three of the six, and have enough left for a good snack later. Dinner and a Diet Pepsi was under $22, plus the tip. Definitely worth it. I will try to make it back. (I don’t live nearby)”

“Foods great, if sometimes a little strong on their spices. Got to go for the first time today instead of dine in and they were super nice about us coming in and ordering Togo! Husband and I like to come here quite a bit and it’s a wonderful place to go. Always want it most when they’re gone sadly.Two people can eat here for less than 20$, which is much better than you can say about almost anywhere else, including fast food.”

And let's not forget about the pizza – absolutely divine! Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the crust was perfection. “We went in and the cashier was on point to great us and take our order it was served quickly and was fresh and it was yummy it was the morning crew I have been there several times we live in Prague Oklahoma so Stroud is only like 10 miles from us compared to Shawnee which is 20 something I will definitely go back for breakfast I don't know about lunch or supper since I haven't been there in the afternoon or evening thumbs up Mickey D's”

“To be fair i use the drive in most days. Food is always good (for a mcdonalds) and the attendants are nice enough but a few of the younger ones have the personality of a tree. Not rude or anything just "will you be using the app. Have a good day all monotone"”

“1st time trying, friends had recommended this place to us. Food was Very good. I got the All You Can Eat Catfish, there 5 good sizes pieces on plate, plus the 2 sides. Needless to say, I didn’t get another round, I actually took some home. My husband got the Chicken Fried Steak, and he said it was very tasty, and tender. Our boys each got a Kids Meal and I think the portions were about what you would think for the money. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that likes a cozy family-friendly atmosphere. Again, our 1st time trying and I think we have found another restaurant that we all enjoy.”

“I ordered my wedding cake through Andrea Howard Cakes and it was amazing! We had a two tiered cake, and I surprised my husband with a grooms cake. She worked with me and we were able to keep the grooms cake a secret. We had three different flavors of cake and each one was so delicious. My wedding was weeks ago and I still have people mentioning to me how great the cake was.At first the price seemed a bit on the expensive side, but after I saw the cakes I was completely fine with the price. You get what you pay for, and her cakes show lots of talent and dedication, so I'll absolutely pay her prices for the quality of cakes she makes!My only issue was that we discussed my mom (who is a florist and did our wedding flowers) to be the one who puts the flowers on the cake. She said that was perfectly fine, and even noted that down two separate times. But when it was time to put the flowers on the cake, she refused to let anyone else do it, even though I was previously told it was fine. The flowers still looked good but it was upsetting that she promised one thing, then refused to keep her word.Edit to add: Andrea reached out to me and explained what happened with the flowers, and it seems it was all a big misunderstanding. There was some miscommunication throughout but it all worked out in the end! The cakes still looked and tasted amazing!”
