Great food at a great price. You can't go wrong with their hand battered chicken fried steak, cheeseburgers, or BBQ. Top it off with a fried pie and you've got a heck of a meal.
Everyone should eat at The Windmill in Texola. The foods homemade, hot and delicious. Don't forget to take one of their fried pies home they're amazing. Well worth the short trip.
I have been here several times over the years and stop whenever I go past exit 1 on I 40 West. Alas, as with all things they are now semi retired and have cut back on the hours the Windmill restaurant is open. Now only Tuesday through Friday 11 AM to 7 PM. I usually get the combo plate which allows you to pick two barbecue items with two sides. The cost is half the price of what I pay in Arizona and the food is excellent. The owners are friendly and will meet your needs if possible.
