Our 1st visit to the Apple Barrel Cafe, the food was amazing although if you do not like celery do not get the chicken salad! :). I ordered the chicken salad sandwich because the description of the salad looked so amazing I had to try it but unfortunately I cannot stand celery, especially raw celery. And this salad had a lot of tiny chopped pieces of celery in it. Too many and too small to pick out because otherwise I would have....because the chicken salad really was delicious!!.
2 of us ordered the soup of the day which was cabbage soup which none of us had tried before and 1 of us had chicken noodle and both soups were amazingly delicious as well as the smothered chicken one of us had. Other than the celery (which was a preference) the food was so good we will definitely go back again!
And the service.....most wait staff today when they see you haven't eaten much of your meal they just ask if you want a box and go on about their day. I wasn't going to complain as it was a preference but when she asked I mentioned to her I didn't like celery and it wasn't in the description on the menu that it included celery or I wouldn't have ordered it so she spoke to her manager and they were nice enough to offer me a change and I took another cup of their delicious cabbage soup! I was ok with no replacement as I didn't ask about the celery but they were super nice and the waitress was super sweet to take care and offer
Atmosphere was very friendly, you could here all the wait staff taking care of their customers like they knew them as regulars or treated them as they would become regulars like us and value for money was excellent
