A very busy place on weekend mornings.
I visited BBD again this morning and had excellent food and excellent service for eight adults and five kids.

Always a good place to spend a weekend morning with friends. Good food served quick and they kindly made my breakfast potatoes extra crispy for me.
Parking: The lot is shared with several businesses so depending on when you arrive, there may be plenty of parking or you might be parking on the street.

I ordered grilled cheese with bacon and tomato and soup. Soup was served cold. Reheated and sent back with a dirty spoon in it. Sandwich not grilled. Bacon charred. Cold. Sent back. He was too lazy to remake it and it came back half cooked with the same bad bacon. I felt sorry for the waitress. It is the worst lunch I have had this year. No excuse for keeping the cook. There were only about five people in the whole place.

Great local cafe. We enjoyed a late breakfast before driving back to Kansas. We both went really basic - two eggs, home fries, with biscuits and gravy. I got scrambled with sausage patties and my wife got over easy with bacon. The biscuits were fresh and sooooo soft. The gravy was good - not life changing but good. The home fries were the best part of the meal - perfectly crispy on the outside, a warm soft middle, and the perfect amount of salt. The wait staff was excellent - my coffee was topped off 3 or 4 times and they offered a to go cup. It was a bit loud when we first sat down - there was a group of friend (7 or 8) really enjoying each others company at the table next to us, but that is not the restaurant. Hey probably a bonus in the review that they had a table that sat 8 people not 2 or 3 table pushed together. Loved it - wished I had taken some pics - would go back again and try the pancakes this time.

Not sure why the negative reviews.. Food was amazing! Wherever I go for breakfast, I always get eggs Benedict, and so many places are terrible at poaching eggs—but this place was SPOT ON. I added avocado, and it was exactly what I wanted. My husband and sister loved the breakfast burrito, with my sister (who doesn’t live here and we’re from a food capital) said it was the best she ever had. We thought the service was really good as well. You had a main server, but other servers would stop by to refill your coffee, etc, so it felt like we never wanted for anything because basically everyone was your server. We think they might share the tips, which may be why they automatically add the 20% (something they clearly denote on the MENU and the RECEIPT so ignore the negative reviews that said “they should’ve said this”). Highly recommend!!

I usually try to make it here twice a month on Sundays. I’ve been coming here for over 4 years and there is one waitress that I get and she’s great. She knows my order, it always comes out right, I never go needing a refill on my drink, and she makes the experience absolutely amazing.
I came in a couple weeks ago and received possibly the worst service I’ve ever had there. Food came out wrong, waitress didn’t deliver the food and didn’t come to check on the food for 10 minutes. I didn’t ask for them to remake it, and they didn’t offer, but I did paid for my food and even tipped the waitress about another $10. I also commented that I’d make sure my waitress was there the next time I decided to come back before I committed to eating there. Forgive me for wanting the food I ordered to be the way I ordered it, and have a decent experience. Heaven forbid, you know, customer service.
I guess the manager behind the bar did not like the fact that I ordered my food one way it came out wrong and I didn’t eat it and said that I’ll just come back and make sure my waitress is here before I eat here again because today I had a very interesting experience which just blows my mind.
When I entered I saw that my waitress is there so I say hi, then waited for a seat. After I set down I waited for her to come by with my drink, but she never did, instead another guy (who is also good at his job) comes up and says I’m your waiter now. I asked if my usually was just too busy and he said no I’m your waiter now you won’t be getting her anymore. I said excuse me. He said I can explain it, but I’m going to be your waiter now. I told him nothing against him, but no, I’ll just leave.
So, because I had a horrible experience, paid for my food, and said I’ll come back and make sure my waitress is here, you want to ruin my experience even more. How does that make sense from a customer service standpoint.
This from an establishment that added a 20% gratuity to your order, regardless of your party size, during CoViD-19, and hasn’t removed it.
I know my review is not gonna do much, but I hope other people see it and start to question how we view our experience, especially when you keep upping the prices of food, you keep a 20% gratuity you added on during Covid, and we’re clearly out of Covid now, and this is how you treat customers who come consistently to support your establishment.
I don’t know if the older, short gray hair gentleman is the owner of the restaurant or not, but if he is that says a lot about about why he didn’t like the fact that I didn’t like my food. If he’s not, I would love to have a nice conversation with the owner, because this is not how you run a restaurant and provide customer service.

Everything about this place checks all the boxes - except quality of the food. First of all the service was great and the waitress was perfect in all aspects ?. The prices are out of line with the quality of food and portions. We had a piece of French toast, two eggs scrambled and toast, pretty normal fare. We also ordered the three meat omelette (#7)with a side of biscuits and gravy. The omelette was bland, the eggs might’ve been an alternative egg with less yolk. One biscuit with about 2 tablespoons of gravy - really disappointing. We will give it another try someday. I should’ve had one of their specialties, they seem to have them highlighted on the menu. There are so many good breakfast options in the area I hope they step up their game.
