Delicious dinner tonight at The Chowhouse! We had Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, PBT (pimento, bacon and fried green tomato) Sandwich with okra and an apple dumpling for dessert. Servings were very generous and prices reasonable!

Great service and great food. If you are looking for a unique and local place to dine in downtown Tulsa try this place. It is a blend of Southern Food, Soul Food, and Midwest Americana. We had a burger and fries, fried catfish plate, and pot roast. The pot roast was tender and flavorful, the burger was cooked perfectly, and the catfish was amazing. Most unique coleslaw I have ever had. It is spicy. They bring the heat by adding some diced jalapeno. It may be spicy, but it is crwamy and tangy, and you can't stop eating it. The server was great and the prices were the most reasonable we experienced on our trip from Kansas City, through Tulsa, to Dallas. The menu is not complicated, but what they do, they do well. Great food, great price, great atmosphere, very welcoming. I will stop here again.
I had the pot roast and mashed potatoes with carrots.The roast was pretty dry.The potatoes and the carrots were amazing.The gravy was good too.My daughter had the catfish and it was good as well!
We were looking for lunch after visiting the Woody Guthrie Center so we stopped by the Chowhouse. A great choice! The restaurant decor is fun, the music is rocking, the food is flavorful, and our server was awesome. Nola was our server. She was friendly, fast, and anticipated our needs. I ordered The Great Cazbah, a grilled cheese sandwich with three kinds of cheese and jalapeño bacon. The sandwich came with one side so I ordered the corn, bean, and cucumber salad, based on Nola’s recommendation. An excellent combination. My dining companion ordered the Santa Fe salad. He must have liked it because he ate every last bit. Highly recommend!

The service has always been upbeat and relatively quick. The menu has a good variety, and the food presentation has always been great. The food itself is hot, fresh, and very good. However, the serving size for the cost is more online with fine dining than a casual corner restaurant.
