We moved to Tulsa from Dallas, April of 2023. We were SUPER happy to find Chengdu because ALL the buffet places sucked on toast here but Chengdu *was* exceptional. WAS being the important word.
It seems that starting in 2025, quality here has gotten down to buffet suckiness. The chili dumplings have ZERO umami. They're literally just chili oil & water with hella-mushy dough floating inside. The Jasmine rice has no umami. The fried rice is just kissed by the grill with a gallon of soy sauce drenching to turn it brown.
And the prices were high back in 2023 but worth it however, they are super-amped now.
Dunno why other than ALL fast food as well as MANY sit down restaurants have just chosen to lower quality, standards, & efforts but jack up prices because patrons will just keep coming, regardless.

Bad service bad waitress non accommodating change was refused and it got really ugly limited menu options we were ignored waitress was mad because we didn't tip her she ignored our asking of water go somewhere else

We really enjoyed our meal here and look forward to going to try more dishes. The spicy wonton dish wasn't as good as we hoped - it wasn't spicy and seemed very heavy handed on sesame oil. But the dry pot beef? It was incredible! Full to the brim of thin sliced beef flavored well. They have a range of American Chinese dishes and a huge selection of more traditional Asian dishes. The waitress was very kind!

Cheng Du is one the best Asian restaurants in town. The food is consistently authentic and full of rich flavor, and they serve it on unique dishes that add to the experience. The Mongolian beef is one of the best I have had, tender, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked. They don’t skimp on the portions, and everything always comes out fresh and hot. The staff is polite and efficient. This is honestly my favorite restaurant in town.

My husband and I decided to try a new Chinese restaurant in the area and boy were we excited the food was absolutely wonderful. The portions were great. We paid $40 for both of us to have a nice dinner. We would definitely come back.

The food was great although I am tired of not getting chopsticks with each meal. I ask for spice sauce and chop sticks and never receive them. Also do not use YOUR CREDIT OR DEBIT HERE!! I've eating here multiple times and everytime I check my account the money is still pending for weeks which has caused me to go in the negative after large purchases. This is not how a business should operate. When I go to use cash all of a sudden they don't know what to do with 100$ so your forced to use your card and like clocks work yep you guess it another pending charge for weeks... Who ever does their accounting I'm pretty sure is into fraudulent behavior!! I won't eat here unless I use cash and it's always empty and it's been years since they opened and have yet to fix up the place to enjoy outside . What shame!
