We went for lunch and we had never been in before. The gentleman working behind the counter offered us a free cheese coney dog to try. It was delicious! I usually do not like onions on my food. These were really great. We ordered the 4 cheese coney dogs and. Large Frito pie.

I came in very excited to try their coney hotdog. I wanted to top it with chili cheese fries which I found out they don’t serve?! Really? So I tried the frito pie, never tried this before. Well, I was very disappointed with the chili, didn’t taste like authentic coney chili so the dogs and pie were not very good, in my opinion. Service was friendly. Sorry but wanted to leave my thoughts.
I love this place it has always been my go to place, what I don’t like is the wennies be not fully cooked, the counters be nasty, some employees are racist, attitude be messed up, and it’s always that one person who can’t get a simple order right outside of this it would be really good

So after we wrapped up at the main reason we came to Tulsa (The Outsiders Museum, which will be its own post) we decided to grab some lunch by the University of Tulsa campus…was kinda surprised Olivia was on board with this option but we did talk about trying some new things on this trip…she had a couple of Coneys and loved them! Then I learned that she had never had a Frito Pie before! So of course I had to fix that! She loved that, too! Fast service, good food, fun spot to try! We said it was apropos since it seemed like the kind of meal a Greaser would’ve had, and maybe the author SE Hinton might’ve had herself!
