So I would not go to Tulsa without stopping by Drake’s. Matthew will make you feel like a local, and you can still smoke at the bar! A must see local spot that can never be replaced!

On our annual guys trip to Tulsa for the Chili Bowl Nationals. We asked the server we had at Kilkenny’s about some local bars. He suggested Drake’s so we gave it a shot. This place is the definition of a dive bar. Totally our kind of place. It actually used to be an alleyway before it was filled in and made into a bar years ago. The bartender was a riot, busting up and joking with us. He also had plenty of food suggestions in town for us. We might make this an annual stop.

Despite what some will tell you (e.g. Dalton), Joe is a great bartender and Dennis Quaid is alive.Joe once pulled me from a burning building in my dreams. He is a dream lifesaver.Treat is.... fine.

First off: this establishment denies the death of Dennis Quaid. HE IS OBVIOUSLY DEAD.Anyway.Joe is a wonderful bartender. After a brief dispute regarding my weight Joe offered to squat me. I climbed upon his broad shoulders and he went to business. Initially I thought he would tumble over (I am top heavy) but his mighty legs were true. He was able to squat me thrice. We did not resolve the issue regarding how much I weigh.Treat is . . . fine.
