Our first time there and we didn't have pizza, which needs to be said first. So, going back for a slices or pie is still to come. We had garlic knots, meatballs and salads. The salads were terrific (and a half is a lot!). The meatballs were primo and plenty for two people. The knots were disappointing--tough even though flavor was decent. Food came out quickly. We loved the wallpaper, a journey in itself.. you have to see it to appreciate it. We'll be back for more!

As an italian from New Jersey I've had my share of ny style pizza. When i visit a new town in the US i always find my way to the nearest pizza shop and try the local's recipe. My hat is off to Empire downtown. Once I stepped in the door I knew. I discovered this pizza is made all fresh ingredients in house and the outcome is an authentic and satisfying ny style pizza as close to the new jersey boardwalk one can make.

I have been here twice and it is absurdly noisy. This time a staff member was dragging tables and chairs around with a horrible screeching noise and as soon as they finished other customers came in and started dragging around to suit them. I like the pizza but it's not worth getting a noise headache.
