Delicious home style cooking served up buffet/cafeteria style. Great old timey band plays every Friday. Established in 1929. It's the first place I would take out of town visitors.
OMG, hands down the BEST chicken fried steak I have ever had, and I have eaten a LOT! My dad asked if it was tender and the waitress didn't think so, so dad didn't get it, but the steak itself absolutely is!! The breading was crispy but still easy for my dad to eat. The meat must be marinated, i have never had any with so much flavor. I gave dad half of mine and missed it but still had plenty to eat because it was a huge portion! The biscuits were scrumptious...
Do yourself a favor and dine at Nelson’s. Everything I’ve ever had is delicious. You can’t beat a restaurant owned and operated by the same family for almost a 100 years!!! Homemade!!! Maybe you will get lucky and Mrs. Nelson will be carrying out her pies hot out of the oven. I’ve eaten plenty when there for breakfast because they are hot!!! Lordy.
