This place is Tex-Mex; food was pretty good but the salsa looked a little soupy, chips were average; my server was great and he constantly kept my drink filled. He also kept checking to see how I was liking the food and everything was ok. I had the shrimp quesadilla and I started with cheesy potato skins which were tasty.

The chili relleno was delicious. The marinated chicken was a bit dry. The margarita was delicious. Our server was kind and professional. I think we would go back. I'd like to try the taquitos.

Every Mother’s Day I think of this restaurant because when I was a young struggling mother, I worked at peppers for my livelihood.
I was the only Mother on staff. The manager scheduled me to work on Mother’s Day and let other servers off that day. Even though I had requested off early, before the schedule was made.
That was the day I walked out and never went back. Choosing my children over this zero empathy place.
Mother’s Day always brings back this memory.

It's a local place, not a chain. The food is consistently good with just that little bit of variability that comes from the chef's small adaptations in ingredient purportions. To us regulars it's a bit like Cheers in that we call the staff by name as they do us. If you like New Mexican food give Peppers a try. In Utica Sq facing 21st St.

As as we walked in, the restaurant smelled strongly of fish. Their salsa was barely salsa. Just watery, chunky tomato bits. I ordered a mixed drink, and there were three dead bugs in my drink. It took 10mins to get the drink changed. My spouse ordered the burrito, and it was so soggy from the grease, and the bell peppers were not cooked. I ordered a shrimp quesadilla with rice and beans, and the rice was hard, burnt (I could tell I got the bottom of the pot), and flavorless. The menu claimed to have pico de gallo inside my quesadilla...there were only huge tomato slices inside. The waitress only came by to check on us ONCE after the bugs in drink ordeal. We told her how disappointed we were in this establishment. She said she wished we could of told her this earlier, but unfortunately, there is nothing that could be fixed in this restaurant. We only ate a few bites, we just wanted our check and to leave as soon as possible. Everything was overpriced, flavorless and not cooked properly. We will not come back here again. Save your money and time, and skip this place.
