We arrived to Sunday Dinner and More By Janet right after open on a Sunday and everything was hot and ready to go.

All of the employees were super nice and helpful. Someone checked on us a couple of times to make sure we were satisfied with our meal.

When we paid, there was no prompt on the POS to tip, only a tip box next to the POS.

As we sat down to eat, more people came in to eat there but also pick up to-go orders. They had consistent customers to serve.

Platters include a main dish, two sides, and your choice of cornbread muffin or dinner roll.

Husband got the fried chicken (four full wings), mac and cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, and cornbread.

I got fried catfish (included Louisiana-style hot sauce and tartar sauce), mac and cheese, cornbread dressing with gravy, cornbread, and an extra side of collard greens.

We got a slice of iced lemon bundt cake for dessert.

Total was $48.00.

The fried chicken wings had a lot of meat on them and the breading was nicely seasoned.

The mac and cheese was a moderate consistency with a lightly seasoned sauce: not too runny or too dry. You may want to add black pepper if that's your thing as there was none I could see in the sauce.

The mashed potatoes were awesome! The gravy had excellent flavor but was heavier on salt. It didn't bother me much, but I will get it on the side and be aware that if you're sensitive to salt or the flavor of salt, it may be too salty for you.

The two fried catfish fillets were made to order and were a nice balance of breading and fish. The fish fillet inside wasn't mushy, but it didn't flake off, either - no surprise with it being fried. I added salt and pepper to the fillets.

Cornbread dressing was perfect, in my opinion: well-spiced and sage-y. I got gravy on mine but will ask for it on the side next time to be more of a dip situation due to the heavier salt.

The cornbread muffins were tasty. They had a touch of sugar in them but not too sweet and balanced well with the meal.

I could eat an entire bucket of the greens. They are made with ham from what I could taste and they're not too salty, either, which is usually my main hitch with greens.

The lemon bundt cake had lighter notes of lemon flavor. They didn't skimp on the lemon-y flavor in the icing, either.

They offer canned soda, bottled water, and water cups for drinks.

If you’re craving some really good soul food, check it out. We will be returning to try their wide variety of menu items.

Janet's Sunday Dinner did not disappoint 😊. My first visit ever to this soul food restaurant. The price is well worth the meal, enough food for 2 days 👍🏽. The seasonings and the overall taste of every bite was delicious 😋
I got the meatloaf, smothered chicken, black eyed peas, and cornbread dressing. The Black Eyed Peas were cooked like my great-grandmother would make them with natural juices that turns into yummy gravy.
