This use to be one of my favorite spots to eat until tonight. I walk in ask to sit at the bar the rude old lady at the front had a problem I wanted to sit at the bar and before I could even sit down the bartender had me a menu and that old lady said is she even going to eat. I replied to the bartender that I was or I would not had of come in if I wasn't he proceeded to get me chips and salsa. Let's not forget that when I went to sit it was only one seat at the bar and the person next to me moved their things Like I had something but I could tell what I had was to melanin in my skin. Then the old front door lady come past and I asked her if someone could clean one of the bar tables off and she yelled are upu talking to me and I asked again and she rolled her eyes and threw her hands in the air with a bunch of attitude. I told her she just ruined my experience with this place and I'll never be back... The crazy thing is I always 20 or more because of the service I received here but never again....

Used to be Arizonas. Now it's so much better. The last owners didn't care and it was run and cared for by the staff. Now whoever owns it now, well they actually care and it's the best. The staff is amazing and nice. Everyone seems like a team player and being helpful when available. We are big fans of Tellos.

Food was ok service was terrible, but the worst part is when I got my bill I tipped to make it an even 50. Making it about a 12 dollar tip and when I woke up the next day I was charged 58.22. Making it about a 20 dollar tip So guess their making up whatever tip they want for themselves. Thats considered theft in my book. I will not ever be going back to this place ever!!!
Loved chips and salsa and also chips and queso
Margarita is great.

Took my oldest to lunch last week, and since she's in the 51st and Lewis area, we tried out Tello's Mexican Grill at 58th and Lewis.
TLDR: Friendly folks, great food and reasonable prices.
Turned out I had my oldest and youngest for lunch, so we had an assortment. We arrived right at noon and were seated immediately. Drinks were ordered along with queso while the usual chips and salsa made their way to the table.
The oldest went with the Speedy Gonzalez plate, which looked quite good. The youngest went with (surprise surprise) a taco salad.
Once I saw they had chile verde on the menu, my mind was made up.
Orders were placed and we thoroughly enjoyed the queso, chips and salsa while we briefly waited for our entree.
I didn't taste the daughters' dishes, but I they did enjoy them greatly. As for mine, it was easily one of the top 3 chile verdes I've had in town. Plenty of slow cooked, succulent pork in a properly done verde sauce. Beans and rice were also well executed.
Service was outstanding, with everything being taken care of almost invisibly.
I'd dined here back when it was Arizona Cafe, but I'm not sure if the menu/staff were new or the same, it's been that long. In any case, Tello's has it going on. Great food, great service and prices that don't break the bank at all. Lunch for three was under $40, and that's great for what we got.
I only took the one picture because we were busy visiting.

Interior looked nice, service was ok. The chicken and beef were under seasoned. The vegetarian option we tried was also bad. It was just raw onions, tomato, and cheese in a pepper. I kind of wish we just went to Taco Bell, and that's saying something
I've been eating there for over 20 years when it was called Arizona's, and the food has always been good. I would go as far as to say it's the best in town!! Never disappointed!! The staff is one of the best in the business!!

I judge a Mexican restaurant on their queso & this was delicious! We also had top shelf Guacamole & combo fajitas with jalapeños- it was really good. Our waitress was very sweet & friendly. It has a nice atmosphere & despite being a busy Friday night it wasn’t too loud. We will be back!

The food, atmosphere, and staff were great!
Great late lunch, service as usual, was spot on. Carnitas were silky, spicy perfection & shrimp cocktail ala Tellos was a savory, sweet, spicy delight.
In town and checked it out. So good, came back the following day with coworkers.
Looking forward to their amazing lunch specials, speedy service and affordable prices.
Check them out, go out of your way to check them out. You will not be disappointed.
