Decided to stay close to the hotel and walked across the street to The Boiler Room. Arrived just as the place was filling up (there was a concert nearby) so there was a crowd and a little wait to be seated. The menu was a little scaled back from the usual menu listed on line due to the concert but still plenty to choose from. The wine list is great, mixed drinks were top notch. Yummy breakfast and welcoming waitstaff! I was actually staying at a nearby hotel and popped over to The Boiler Room in the historic Mayo Hotel for breakfast. I got their original breakfast plate. It was a steal at just $9! Cori and Jennifer, the waitresses, were very attentive and super friendly too!
Our servers were very nice and very informative about the area. Looking at the website for the Mayo Hotel, this restaurant seems much nicer than it ended up being. For appetizers we ordered the fish tacos and the fried green beans. The fish tacos were a little weird, served in large yellow crunchy corn tacos that you might buy from the grocery store.
