My friends and I are always looking for a unique dining experience for our weekly meetup and let me tell you did this place deliver. We get there and the place is pitch black, and I’m like what’s the deal here, is it suppose to look abandoned and the real restaurant is underground and you gotta know the secret passphrase? Like we haven’t seen that one a hundred times. How original.. not.But no, it turns out the place was actually closed and their google reservations accepts bookings after hours. I gotta say I’ve never seen that one before, in a world where every restaurant is trying to do something unique they really set themselves apart. Just wow.I will 100% visit again! Hopefully when it’s not open ;)

My friend and I went to the Local Bison for dinner. We both ordered burgers with fries. Our burgers were very good, with a nice portion size that filled us up without being too big. Tip: The restaurant is located on the ground floor of The Meridia, a mixed-used development at 522 S. Boston Avenue in Tulsa, Oklahoma The fries were nicely cooked and well salted - we won't hesitate to come back the next time we're craving burgers in Tulsa :-)

Stopped at this place after lunch whenever it wasn’t too packed and had a quiet crowd. Ordered the Jalapeño popper grilled cheese with fries. Only thing cooked on the sandwich was the bacon and toasted bread. I waited over 25 minutes with no one to update me on anything. After finally getting the sandwich, I was slightly hopeful that it would make up for the wait. Nope. Whole chunks of cream cheese and thick slices of jalapeños. ): On the plus side, my server was really nice and the fries were crispy.

Gross food, slow service, uncomfortable seating, high prices. Not a great experience.

Food is wonderful and the drinks are perfect. The wait staff was so friendly. Definitely put this on your list if you're in Tulsa!

I had the worst burger of my life here. It was called "The Local add bacon"The bun was greasy with something flavorless, the patty was sadly thin, tough, and well done with not a trace of seasoning, or char or any other redeeming characteristics of meat cooked on a hot griddle or grill. The tomatoes were unripe and without character, the dill pickles had no zing. The onions added no zest. It was supposed to come with Dijon mustard but I neither saw nor tasted any evidence of it. Perhaps the most shocking crime of them all is that the cheese was put above the bacon and not even cooked into the patty. The bacon was crispy but no delightful saltiness. All in all I got the impression that this was an afterthought menu item with no consideration that people might actually eat it. I shudder to think of what the rest of the fool might be like.

We tried out the Local Bison tonight for dinner. I had the Cowboy with sweet potato fries and the hubby had the Chupacabra. Both were well cooked and seasoned. Very yummy. The fries were perfect. A good size serving without being too large. I’d highly recommend it if your downtown for dinner.

My friend and I came in on Sunday for the vegan challenge. We started with cocktails the seasonal mojito for my friend, and the blood orange margarita for myself. Of the 2 drinks, we both agreed we liked the blood orange margarita best. They only had 1 item submitted in the vegan challenge, the vegan patty burger. It honestly didn't even look that good in the picture online, but we wanted to try it. So we split that, then ordered a few sides to go with it. We also ordered the hot honey sprouts and the red chili cauliflower. The vegan patty melt was disappointing- we asked for pickles to add to it. Thankfully our server brought lots of pickles. So essentially we each had 1/2 a pickle sandwich. It was served on white bread- I've always had my patty melts on yummy rye bread. This sandwich came with shoe string fries- even with dipping sauce, we still didn't eat the fries, agreeing they were not worth the calories. When the server came to check on us, she asked what we thought of the vegan patty melt. We told her we really enjoyed the 2 appetizers we ordered off the menu, but we're not a fan of the patty melt. She did say she would share our feedback. Also, when we ordered our drinks the server said if we needed to use the restroom to use the men's restroom. That the women's was dirty and needed cleaning. We had just come from Fall at the Ranch, so I definitely wanted to wash my hands, I wouldn't have really thought the men's restroom was that clean either. It was 3:45 on a Sunday. We were the only people in the restaurant. So it wasn't like someone was just in there who had thrown paper towels on the floor and left the sink area a wet mess.

I wanted to try an appetizer but they were too expensive. My mom liked the vegan chupacabra burger. The local was alright, not great. Decor was weird and lots of wires hanging from the ceiling not plugged into anything which was distracting. Won’t be back.

Food is good. Second best bar drinks in Tulsa. The layout and ambiance is lacking. Service is good.

Went during the dead period of the day. Very nice staff. We ordered the top burger and it was good. Didn't get to see the ambiance but it looked like it pops. I would recommend but maybe during the popular night.
