Tokyo Garden of Tulsa left a disappointing impression during my recent visit. On Sunday, October 19, we arrived at 8:39 PM, just 21 minutes before their stated closing time of 9 PM. Despite this, the staff informed us that they had already stopped seating, which felt frustrating and unfair. What added to the annoyance was seeing other customers still inside the restaurant, which made their refusal to serve us even less understandable. The inconsistency between their posted hours and actual service left a negative experience. Based on this, I will not be returning, as I believe a business should respect the hours it advertises and treat all customers fairly.
Took my grandkids there for a standard hitachi chef experience and there was no normal culinary showmanship. What a disappointment.
Our chef was less theatric than others we have tabled with at Tokyo Garden. Part of the reason we go to this restaurant is for the show during the cooking and this time the show was somewhat lackluster.
Had to wait a very long time for chef to show and then he was very short and abrupt. Food was good but some of steak was still raw. Overall not terrible but way different than before
Would definitely go back. The sushi rolls were excellent and a good size for the money. I had the Awesome roll and Screaming roll. Both were very good. They also had a good beer selection.

Sat in the bar area with no waiting. The bartender took good care of us without the hibachi show (you're still able to order from the hibachi menu) the poke bowl, sushi roll, and hibachi were all excellent.

3rd time we have been to this location over the last 1.5 years with no A/C working. They really need to figure out why the A/C continues to be an issue.

Restaurantji Recommends
The rice and noodles were very good. The steak was excellent. What got them two stars was the quality of their shrimp and salmon. The shrimp was hard and chewy and the salmon was fishy, tasty and didn't really have any flavor. The shrimp appetizer is tasteless and the saddest boom boom shrimp I've ever had.

We didn't have but a few minutes to wait. Service was great, not one complaint. Great food, cooked just right. Very clean. Servers and cook were friendly and accommodating. We would recommend to everyone and will come back.

Favorite Hibachi restaurant in Tulsa. Staff is always friendly and service has always been good. If you don't want to eat at the Hibachi table you can always sit at the bar at first come first serve. I have ate at both and I've noticed when sitting at the bar it's actually a little slower than at the Hibachi tables but the food is still delicious either way!
Tonight was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I am not sure what was going on but I’ve never seen this bad of service, and I’ve been in the industry. After waiting 30 minutes for a table (we had reservations), we were sat to wait until 20 minutes for water. We then ordered drinks and 20 more minutes passed, so I actually had to go up to the bar myself (since a server was no where to be seen) and I saw the drinks sitting in the back (the wine had condensation on it it was sitting so long). I asked the bartender if those were ours and he said “yeah, I guess - take them”. So I took my drinks for my family back to my table..
People come to nice restaurants like this for special occasions - it is very expensive. I strongly suggest you do NOT come here for a special occasion. Nothing was special about this dining experience.

We called to try to place an order, to pick up 40 minutes before they closed and were told they closed down early and the sushi chef left. I would understand if it was five or 10 minutes before close, but what is the point of having a closing time if you are clearing out staff over a half an hour before the listed closing time.
