Everything was great as usual, but when we got there they didn't actually have any tables saved for our reservation. They asked us if we were okay to sit at the sushi bar, which we said yes rather than wait. But most of the time when making a reservation I expect a regular table to be saved. Food hit as usual
Food is exceptional. Service is great. Wait time for food was a bit long.... But they were busy.
This is hard to articulate, but I had a hard time finding a sushi roll that I liked. I'm kind of a plain Jane girl when it comes to sushi.. mostly because I lived in Hawaii for several years and I developed a higher pallet. The sushi roll was good but not great. I gave my sushi roll to my husband instead of asking for a new one because sometimes sushi rolls are hit and miss. It was called the hot mess. And I moved over to a soup and salad. The miso soup and a cucumber salad, which were great. Then for dessert I asked what they had and the waiter told me they had a dessert sushi roll. Add another nearby restaurant there are banana spring rolls that are served that are very good so I said yes to the dessert. Sushi roll. Come to find out. It was just a regular sushiRoll with a Rum pineapple dressing, which makes it sweet, but not a dessert. I tried one bite. I didn't like it and the waiter said well you just might not like sushi then. Which is not true. But instead of the waiter asking if there was something else that we could try, he just gave us a ticket and that was at. The waiter himself was nice but kind of slow on his speed of service. Which would not be a reason for frustration except for the restaurant wasn't that busy. Just the level of concern for the customer what a little unsatisfying. Overall, I left and it did not ruin our valentines. I just think that a little more concerned from the server would've been nicer especially on a holiday.
The waiter did not tell me I would be charge for chile oil and some other sauce. She try to charge me for a small bottle of beer instead of large bottle. Just horrible waiter, even when I have been waiter try to keep in open mind. Probably would never go back m.
food was overcooked and sushi rolls are small and not worth the price, the grocery store sushi is better. The server was good but seemed slow when the restaurant wasn't busy.

Last two times we have been there not good. NOODLES BEEF LOMAIN TOUGH. Sushi mosly rice and not made with all the ingredients. Times before these pretty good. Sushi had no taste.
My favorite sushi and his favorite ramen in town! We absolutely love this place. We’ve been loyal customers for a while now and it’s never disappointed. They did our rehearsal dinner three years ago and it was perfect

BLUF: Above average priced for below average sushi. Will not return.
DETAILS: This was our 2nd or 3rd time here, unfortunately. Location and distance is my enemy - I need to be disciplined enough to not let convenience overcome my and my family’s craving for sushi. There are so many other better options. Overall, it’s terrible quality sushi, esp for what you pay. I blame myself for returning here, foolishly expecting it to be better this time around. The fact that it’s conveniently located at a busy shopping area, with Whole Foods next to it - that’s why ended up going back. Never again. Finally writing a review.
Rice, the key ingredient in all sushi, is overcooked, mushy and bland. Enough said there.
We sat at the bar, only to observe the sushi “chef” make a rainbow roll with precut and pre-wrapped fish. I kid you not, this was the first I’ve seen a rainbow roll made this way. And I’ve seen and eaten a LOT of sushi. With it being my favorite food, this was utterly inexcusable… having it done this way to merely safe time or prep. This is an insult to sushi and sushi lovers.
Son ordered the ramen to accompany the meal - it was okay albeit a bit bland. For $18 a bowl, we were surprised to find out it didn’t even come with the staple egg. Chili sauce was extra $, I kid you not.
I don’t mind paying high for good sushi. We do that often. Emphasis on the good (if not great) part. This was not that. Far from it.
Our waiter was the best part of our meal. He was engaging and attentive and not overbearing. However, he doesn’t control how the kitchen and sushi team cuts corners and gives a bad imitation of the iconic Japanese food.
Will not return. No photos necessary to accompany this review.

I recently gave up on Yokozuna after visiting the downtown location. I couldn't put my finger on exactly what killed the vibe there, but I immediately felt it in my body when we sat down. Negativity and bad energy just filled the space. Today I happened to be in the vicinity of the South Tulsa location and stopped in. To say the 2 are the same restaurant is comical. This place had a beautiful open feel. The staff were joyful, it was tangible. The positive vibes refreshed me. Food seems to be prepared a little more thoughtfully as well. The staff smiles and care in their work were not forced. They enjoyed being there. I'm saying that if the two places are run by 2 separate managers, please fire Downtown & hire South to run both. They ARE NOT the same. My entire empath body was so grateful & pleased today. You've regained a customer, just in South Tulsa Lol. Food YES. Vibe YES. Staff Yes. Openness/Kindness/Energetic Output YES. Thank you!!!!
