“I love Waffle House. I will choose them over IHOP or Denny's any day of the week. When offers to take me to breakfast, Waffle House is always my first answer. I especially love their sausage gravy, which is a menu item one is hard-pressed to find elsewhere. Laid-back atmosphere and they're open 24-7. Great any time of day. My favorite time to visit, personally, is after attending live concerts, because the food is delicious and the staff has never once been hateful or judgmental when I walked in intoxicated after leaving the bar or a live event. Thank you Waffle House! You guys are winners.“
“After arriving in Oklahoma City on Amtrak, my sister picked me up and after a quick drive to her house, we decided it was time to make a pit stop and get our grub on. We randomly picked a Waffle House, and sometimes taking a chance pays off.
When we walked in, the place wasn't very busy, which gave me a chance to look around. Everything was clean, neat, organized, and well maintained. So far, so good.
Now let me tell you about the real star of this visit—our waitress, Ms. Brittany. She was the only one working the floor, but you'd never know it. Ms. Brittany kept everything running smoothly while still managing to greet us with a warm smile, a friendly attitude, and a sense of humor that made us feel right at home. She was attentive without hovering, quick without rushing, and made sure our drinks and food arrived without a hitch. If Waffle House handed out Olympic medals for customer service, she'd be standing on the podium.
For drinks, I kept it simple with water while my sister enjoyed an orange juice. My sister ordered a waffle with bacon and a side of grits. I went with the Texas Patty Melt, crispy hash browns, and a side of grits. Unfortunately, I got so focused on eating that I completely forgot to take pictures of the food. I suppose that's a pretty good sign.
The food was very good. Everything was flavorful, well seasoned, and those hash browns were cooked crispy enough to make a hash brown enthusiast shed a tear of joy. The grits were good, the patty melt hit the spot, and nobody left hungry.
Since I don't live in the area, this was simply a random stop chosen on a whim. But thanks to good food and outstanding service from Ms. Brittany, I'd gladly stop by again. If you're lucky enough to visit when she's working, you're in for a treat.“
