We started going to Loom when it was Heirloom Bistro and it never disappoints. The move to the new location is still very quaint and beautiful. Such a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. The food is awesome. I can't live without the Arancini balls, their appetizer cheesecake (when available is unreal) and their main beef shortrib is so tasty! Try some cocktails they are delicious and always well presented. Proud to be a resident of Almonte and brag about this fantastic restaurant.

Tomato bisque was super salty, sourdough bread super oily, ferro salad was good though, service ok, place ok. Not what a bistro is. You can do better!

Each Tuesday Loom does a selection of three different tacos. They are all excellent with great flavours and bursting with garnishes. We go almost every week. In summer and fall, the patio by the river is wonderful. Indoor dining area is small with appropriate distancing so they can only accommodate a few guests. Be sure to reserve!

Last evening myself and four other guests had my birthday dinner at 'Loom' Cafe Bistro in Almonte. We sat outdoors in a spacious lovely outdoor patio overlooking the Mississippi river. I have not had this good a meal in a very long time. We shared three different appetizers and every bite of each dish was unique, fresh and full of flavour. Our main courses included lamb, tuna and beef and honestly every dish was as delicious as the other. Each cooked to tender perfection. We shared three desserts that were creme brule with apple puree, a chocolate cake and a date cake (see pic). Again, each plate was artistically presented, good sized portions and absolutely delicious - not a crumb left and two of us were "not dessert eaters."Plates were all presented with flare and delicate decorations of sauces or flowers. Service was friendly and attentive and they even provided us some blankets to ward off the cool fall night air. All agreed the meal and experience was fantastic and are definitely returning to Loom sometime soon.

We ordered beef short ribs, yellowfin tuna, salads and pumpkin butternut cake. They answered the phone to take my order at 9 am, what a pleasant surprise! Everything was packed up perfectly and ready for pickup, but more importantly the food is outstanding! Delicious every bite, licked the dressing containers ( because we could). We wanted to pick up early and eat later so they packed up the mains in reheatable containers separate from the condiments salads and desserts so it was easy. Can’t wait for taco Tuesday ! 5*****

My husband and I had booked a couple of days away at the Waring House in Picton for our anniversary, but due to horrible customer service in advance of our stay, cancelled and decided to stay at home and order a take out meal. We ordered the Stilton Cheese Appetizer, 2 bowls of Red Pepper and Brie Soup, Beef Short Ribs, Lamb Shank and the Dark Chocolate Cake. Our order was ready exactly when we arrived, was piping hot, beautifully presented in the take out containers and delicious. I was not able to eat all of my meal, so will enjoy it again tomorrow. Thanks for helping us celebrate our anniversary with a top notch meal. I encourage anyone in the area to try out the Heiroom Cafe. They really know what they are doing for extremely reasonable prices.

We had lunch today at the Heirloom at the recommendation of family. Restaurant was clean and inviting. Service was prompt and food was exceptional. Recommend the Monte Cristo for a hearty sandwich or the fish tacos. Both well executed with soup, salad and craft beer on tap.

I had the beef short rib. It was overcooked and was a low grade cut of beef. This is unusual for this restaurant. Normally the food is quite good. I would avoid the beef dishes. This is an opportunity for improvement for this establishment.

What a delightful bistro located on the water and overlooking the falls. My partner and I arrived for a late lunch, without having made reservations, which didn't pose a problem. The wait for our food was a bit lengthy, but once it arrived it was well worth it! I enjoyed a chicken sandwich with artichoke with a cup of their delicious homemade soup, and my partner enjoyed his lamb burger with fresh bun and craft beer. We will be back!

The food , presentation,, portion sizes and service are always outstanding at this wonderful restaurant. It is located in a perfect location at the Mill falls and parking is available nearby.

The food is lovely here. Servings are appropriate sized - not huge, not tiny as is often associated with haute cuisine. The dishes are well thought out and there is good selection. Same thing for their drink menu. The service is very good as well. Our group of 4 had 3 different entrees and everyone loved what they had. There were no disappointments at all. We had brunch here previously and had a similar experience - excellent food, grat service - but this was our first dinner and I a pleased to say the quality and experience were consistent. Two people can get a 3 course meal, with drinks and coffee, tax and tip, all in for under $150 CAD.

This place has a wonderful ambience inside. Its nestled nicely adjacent to the towns beautifull waterfalls and located in a heritage stone building once associated with the towns wool industry. The food, service and selection are ecclectic and wonderfully surprising. The beverage selection was excellent and quite affordable.

It is a very popular bistro in Almonte it seems as all tables were taken. It is a nice, warm, informal place with interesting dish choices. I tried the pizza and it was very good.
