Great service and very good food. We'll be back!If you're in Almonte, I really suggest you try this great bistro restaurant.
As an indigenous person, I was vaccinated early in Ontario while being a Quebec resident. The government has yet to set up a process where people in my situation can get their QR code as proof of vaccination. This has not been a problem as the government provided proof of vaccination has been sufficient at every other establishment. My partner and I made a valentines day reservation at Loom Bistro but were asked to leave our seats as I could not provide a QR code. This was very embarrassing and sadly out of our control. Its sad that the government continues to fail indigenous people and that institutions fail to support us.We did not get to try the food, but the staff were really unhelpful. I would not recommend supporting this business for these reasons. My partner and I walked to another local restaurant and were seated and treated properly.
This is our absolute favorite place to treat ourselves. Once you visit, you will come back, everything is made from scratch, flavourful, well thought out... definitely a great place to celebrate a special occasion, or just to eat something amazing because you want to.
Can not say enough good things about this place! Service is ALWAYS friendly, food is incredible... I personally love going for Taco Tuesdays, paired with their spicy Marg's. A great spot!
First visit for the 4 of us. We shared the charcuterie & cheese board to start. Beautifully presented with top notch ingredients and actually plenty for us all. We then opted for 1 lamb shank, 1 yellow tuna and 2 beef short ribs. Every little bit of it all was expertly done and just oh-so delicious. Crème brûlée and butter tart followed. Wine by the glass selection is quite decent. The location is really pleasant and the service was truly excellent (thanks Carolyne). The one complaint for us is the fact that there were only 3 mains to choose from. That seems entirely too few for a bistro of this calibre. Regardless, this is a MUST return kind of place.
The food is absolutely amazing. Who would think peach chutney in shrimp cakes would go together... Well it does and not ho hum.... Really really amazing. I had the yellow fin tuna with rice in a curry sauce and again... Amazing. Cost us $120 for 2 people with an appetizer 2 glasses of wine each, our main and we shared a dessert and that is a little steep for us but not if the food is great and the portions are sufficient... and it was so go to Loom as soon as you can. You will not be disappointed.
Checked online and was directed to text a take out order, sent a text and got no reply. Not a big deal, we ate elsewhere. Staying at the Inn where Loom is located....thought hey, why don't we order a little dessert, you know support a local place all other reviews were great. Called and NOPE was told that they can't do takeout tonight, really? Really? You couldn't toss a couple slices of pie or cake in a box. Not very impressive.
Another fine dining experience. All the dishes our party ordered were timed perfectly. The layers of flavours were well thought out. Was so happy to get out and enjoy it during this pandemic.
The setting is very scenic (not to mention, historic) and the food is fabulous although portions are on the skimpy side. I ordered the fish tacos and was presented with 2 small tacos - I could have easily eaten at least 3. Friendly staff. I would recommend trying this place but eat a little something beforehand.
Such an adorable place. It's so intimate and has lovely charm. The food was great. I was a little disappointed by the wine selection, but besides that five stars!

The setting of this place is awesome, all tables outside near the water front.Service and food excellent. Highly recommend the Taco night. Nothing Mexican, just the soft round shell, filled with either shredded meat, chicken or shrimp. Amazing!
I was at the Loom with my family for a truly memorable dinner. I had the Short ribs and they were absolutely amazing. My wife, being Celiac requires true gluten free. This was accommodated with ease. The young lady serving us was lovely, knowledgeable and took excellent care of us. The environment is absolutely beautiful emanating of quality craftsmanship from yesteryear - not to mention this is all on the shores of the beautiful Mississippi river. Highly recommend. Where is the 10-star button? Thank you Loom.
The food was very good and was plated nicely. On top of the great food, the scenery was also beautiful. The food is a bit expensive for the amount that you receive.
Always such a pleasant experience here, wether it's an in-dining experience or take out, the food is just incredible. It is a small restaurant, but I think that adds to the charm of eating here. Staff have always been great, food has always been delicious and I would 10 out 10 recommend eating here!
This is our go to for ordering in on special occasions. The food is consistently delicious and service is excellent too.
